I played Recettear for a couple of hours yesterday. The dungeon system, the only thing I was somewhat interested in, was a complete disappointment. It felt like I was playing a dumbed down version of Brave Soul. All that's left is an incredibly tedious process of buying and selling things and character interaction scenes that are bland at best and boring at worst.

I don't hate the game. It doesn't do anything particularly bad, it isn't frustrating and doesn't feel like a pointless grind. But it hasn't made me so much as smile, engrossed me in the story or presented an entertaining challenge. It's just bad, in a 'this is not unpleasant but everything else I could be doing instead is more entertaining' way.
