I prefer fixed posed only because most movable ones suck. Like the fraulean evangelion figures. Shit sux.

Some articulated figures are nice (figma) but I'd rather have them fixed. Not really fond of posing my figures anyway.

joints aren't all that bad but when you pose them they tend to lose said pose and fall over. plus the quality of fixed pose figures are way better than action figures

I only have fixed-pose figs atm, but one of these days I'll go get that MMS Yoko + some random figma. Ask me again then.

Jointed figures are more fun to have around.

Both. Fixed-posed figures can have a lot more detail and some dynamic looking sculpting, but I also like action figures, particularly Busou Shinki, to set up my own poses and to re-enact what the civil war would have been like if George Washington was Gundam.

Also for dolls I prefer doll joints. I cover them up with clothes anyway.
