I like the fan works really. I played the games, but they get boring rather fast. Soundtracks are worth downloading though, and some of the characters are memorable.

I like the fanworks I check out. I can't really get attached to the characters though, since it seems most of the attention they receive is from fanon.

Played shmups with my dad when I was a kid. I find it really fun and nostalgic when I play the games.

Second thing I like is the music and the arranges fans compose.

Yeah. It actually kinda twists you mind once you start playing the games after obligatory secondaryfag period. I don't even recall the last time I fired up Steam to play something else and majority of music I listen are Touhou remixes and I have gigabytes of fanon manga & pictures.

TBH, I have no clear idea how I ended up like this, either. I wasn't that into anime or jap culture either.

The games are pretty mediocre, really.

Nice art (sometimes) and good music, but in terms of scoring systems and gameplay, it is really pretty poor for a shmup in my opinion. The patterns just aren't all that exciting, it feels slow paced a lot of the time, it is understandable how it would appeal to some, but not for everyone.

I don't like shumps but I enjoy SWR/ soku.

The fanon is awesome. I didn't really get it at first but once you learn more about the characters it becomes pretty cool until it gets done to death like ⑨
