The clumsy-cute meido persona is /jp/'s coping mechanism for the general dislike of the janitor and their policies that goes with the position. This way, /jp/ can continue to take it easy while still expressing frustration with the janitor's policies, instead of working itself into a huff like usual.

We had a sticky not too long ago. Carmeldansen related I think. Other boards flooded /jp/ to post in a stick, and /jp/ quality dropped pretty low.

A few people calmly complained about how it was poor moderation to bring in spam flood to the board, and were banned.

I think I'm glad I have no idea what you guys are talking about.

"Meido" was created in a time when the janitor was taking a lot of hate for deleting content they judged was relevant to the board.

As time went on and the quality of /jp/ declined due to the flock of newfriends from /a/, /v/ and /r9k/, oldfriends became more appreciative of the janitor's work. Today whenever we see one third of our board deleted we feel pretty good because someone out there is watching out for us, even if it's just for a small portion of the day.

Janitor work is pretty hard and unrewarding, the least we can do is show how much it means to us.
