ZUN has been consistently very good with stage 5 and 6 boss themes. Stage 6 was especially hard to pick. I decided on Nuclear Fusion because it feels particularly epic while suns are being thrown in your direction. I also consider "nuclear stuff" to be a harder theme to match music to than vampires or ghosts.

Side note: I really, really like Suwa Foughten Field. Problem is that it half the song sounds too much like a stage theme. It's like ZUN forgot halfway in that he was making a boss theme and not a stage theme

Agreed. I feel like the stage theme (Cemetary of Onbashira~Grave of Being) truly outshines it. CoO~GoB, to me at least, fits the part of its slot perfectly. It fits with the sound of the rest of the game, grabs the sense that you've made it a long way, and ushers in a sense of foreboding that what you're about to meet will be epic. I never liked Kanako as a character, and it's not helped that her theme and the fight itself (except for her last spellcard) are underwhelming.

Difficulty can sometimes be a personal thing. I find Kanako to be derptastically easy once you memorize her cards (except for Virtue of the Wind God), but I enjoy fighting the Prismrivers and Youmu the same way I enjoy performing a self-vasectomy. Other Stage 6 bosses on proper difficulties will have me worried that I'll die if I blink at the wrong time (in a good way) even if I've beaten them before.

On a few attacks, yes. But that's probably more due to the fact that my PC98 emulator sometimes skips and I don't play MS all that much. If you couldn't tell from my list, I'm quite addicted to MoF and SA (and to a lesser extent, EoSD). Thematically, I just find those to be the most fun to play.

Let's just say both themes are shit and stop arguing. Are you happy now?

Even if they are master and shikigami, it was unwise in my opinion for ZUN to make their themes so similar. He probably just couldn't decide which version of the song he liked better, so he looked for a way to get 'em both into the game.
And their spellcards are too similar. Whatever. I'm not ZUN. It's still fun to play, and both songs are enjoyable. I actually really like Charming Domination as well, in spite of the CHEEEEEEEEEEEEN KAWAII KAWAII business.
