The first season of Strike Witches was pretty bland probably because it was being produced by dying Gonzo which was their last hope of coming out of the red.

Second season which is now produced by AIC revived the series and brought it to another level. Basically overall AIC made it more enjoyable than it would be.

I can say that I shed quite nice tears during some episodes. Latest episode with the main focus on Perrine rebuilding her homeland made me cry a bit. I used to dislike her to the point where her existence is null but now my heart is open to her.

Personally I think the 1st season is superior (excepting "Higher than the Sky").

The 2nd season has much worse writing and no logical consistency.

The latest episode was horrible and a massive disappointment as the Perrine episode.
