About half of the gameplay is a JRPG, but it's more of an add-on to the point of the story: the cosmospheres of the heroines (think subconscious mindscapes). The cosmosphere sections play like a VN. If a picture is worth a thousand... videos will work faster:

Maybe a year ago this might have been true. Average life expectancy without bumping is around 12 hours these days although it's usually less depending on the amount of shitposts. It's pretty sad that I automatically wake up every few hours when I'm sleeping just to check if this thread is bumped or not.. Well you still charge your meter even if you get the 'Immune' message, so just build up a big song and kill them? You can also use elemental skills (like Lyner's Impulse) and the fire part of Jack's regular attack does some damage too.

Lyner up front, Jack and Krusche in the back. Jack does some pretty nice damage, especially if you give him some elemental damage crystals as he hits multiple times. Krusche has the ability to heal and does some nice damage when your harmonics are up. Pick your reyvateil of choice, personally I had loli Misha until Shurelia turned up and used her from then onwards only because she trips over and falls in battle. I actually felt sorry for Radolf and Ayatane since I never used them.

I'm still on the fence about how different AT3 feels from the other games, but I do like the variety in the Hymmnos. I actually like loli flat chests, but it bugs me when that's all there is, to the exclusion of all other chest sizes, except for the token gag balloon female.

In fact, it feels that a lot of series/games these days have gone the 'extreme ends' route where it's either all flatties with possible token boobmonsters, or just all boobmonsters with maybe a token flatty. There's several other cupsizes between those out there that need love too.

It also bugs me when pre-existing characters get size upgrades/downgrades because it feels like tampering with an existing character's details just to pander to fanboys. If a character is known for her perky b-cups, then it feels bad if she's suddenly turned into an ironing board. There's billions of characters, and losing their particular details to make them more like other characters makes me sad.

I got Cloche the first time as well because I didn't like Luca and didn't want to wait for 3rd Reyvateil, not when I can get the mc's relationships straight so early in the game, this kind of shit always bugs me in jrpgs.
After playing the other two I must say that I still find Cloche to be the best choice, it's just that the whole plot flows so well and naturally with her as the main love interest that it doesn't surprise me her path is canon in AT3.
Of course Luca still has the best cosmosphere in the serie ( thought Finnel takes the cake for the darkest one, even compared to 3rd Reyvateil ) and 3rd Reyvateil's is fun to see to get some insight on her story.

Just loose the clips in the middle and gently let the pages slide away, after finished put them back together and close the clips.

It really depends on how it's bound. That being said, a poorly scanned copy is still preferable to no scans at all. If you aren't willing to tear it apart, you'll have to just open the book as wide as possible when scanning. This does, however, tend to miss the parts of the page closest to the spine. Depending on the size of the scanner and the book you may be able to do it two pages at a time, rather than one page at a time as in my image here. Two page scanning tends to get a bit more if the page that's close to the spine and with some help from a skilled shooper you can even manage a reasonable recreation of anything out of focus.

Of course, all that pales in comparison to a scan done with the pages removed from the binding and placed flat on the scanner.

as for the other suggestion i will try that and post some results in /jp/ this week-end ( tonight or tomorrow morning ) hoping i'll get some tips on how to scan them better

By the way there is some redondant pictures set from previous AT artbooks and what seems to be some kind of interview at the end of the book i 'll go in order unless some people here want them in another way ...

How's Atelier Iris 2 compare to the first or third? In terms of character and alchemy I mean. Gameplay-wise, I figure they're not going to be all too different.

Is there a list of conversation topic locations/triggers anywhere? I'm one topic away from completing Misha's Cosmosphere, and that seems to be barring me from completing Shurelia's.

They're not that different, generally. The battle system is similar, but it has some differences, and IIRC the alchemy part isn't as important as it is in 3. As for characters, it's a matter of opinion I guess. Personally, I think 3 is a bit below the others in terms of characters.

Speaking of characters, I was somewhat annoyed that they gave Felt white hair, I feel that it should be reserved for characters with something different about them, whereas Felt is more or less a typical protagonist. That's just me, though.

It doesn't look half bad compared to normalfags getting random Chinese/Japanese symbols that they don't even know what they mean. Although in saying that if it's taken straight from a song it'll probably be extremely cheesy if the translated lyrics are anything to go by. Making a custom hymnnos tattoo seems pretty nice though.
