bringing my "waifu" to life is basically my life's goal
but i don't think its very smart to start with the most complicated part (a.i.)
you'll just end up accomplishing nothing unless you're a genius

just start small by learning to build her a lovely body (dollmaking)
then learn to enable her to move (robotics)
and after that enable her to move on her own (a.i.)

i'm almost finished with step 1 by only devouring 4-5 ritalin a day for 8 months straight

Artificial Intelligence? I wasn't pushing it so far, yet i have thought about it.
The problem is how to "create" something intelligent. I went and try to find what makes us human intelligent, but failed.

The brain? Biology? I thought that but what about our emotions, it's not like we can explain it with sience.

I actually do research evolutionary AI in my spare time. Still I'm one person with a total computing power of 20Ghz. I'm not going to be writing waifu level AI any time soon.

for an a.i. its basically the same:
- see unknown object "fire"
- base programming is to acquire information about new things -> it inspects the "fire"
- saves "fire" as "non-solid" "xx°-xx° celsius" "red/yellow color"
- sensors detect body damage
- base programming says body damage is bad -> it cancels the current activity and saves "fire" "non-solid" "xx°-xx° celsius" "red/yellow color" as potentially bad
- cross-references everything with its list of not-bad things
- "non-solid" and "red/yellow color" didn't hurt it before so these thing get removed
- "fire" and "xx°-xx° celsius" get saved as bad things
- it won't touch fire or things that are known to be too hot again next time

that's just a simple example of course
but we are also rather simple beings
not that hard to emulate

scripts may be nice in combination with a moving body before real a.i.
but texting with pre-scripted chatbots?

opinion is based on what seems pleasant to you. It's possible to give something an opinion on things like colors, looks, sounds would take work but if you can get it to recognize music decently, it could be given certain frequencies, repetitions, and tones that it prefers.

It's not exactly waifu-related but I'm making a simple scene graph engine based on opengl. Progress so far: basic scene hierarchy, obj model loading, texturing and glsl shaders. Physics engine integration is up next.

This makes for a good simulation, but it will still act like a chat bot from the internet. A true waifu AI would need the ability to learn in general situations, which requires much more complex evolutionary, bayesian, or neural network algorithms.

2 years /jp/, and I swear I'll have a fully functioning waifu AI program for you all. Just watch.
