How does one clean/remove blood stains from a dakimakura without doing any damage to the image?

One, it's not significant, just a small dot above the top of her head, I'm guessing from a small cut on my head that reopened or something. Second, I'm also looking for general cleaning tips in the inevitability that I have to give it a good wash, and I'm not so confident about throwing it into a washing machine, even if on a "delicate" cycle. I'm just concerned about removing the blemish mark on it right now, though.
