The government won't just let you tell them that you're afraid of people and put you on welfare for the rest of your life, usually you have to regularly report steady progress towards being able to work again. i'm at my job now, doing just that. living the dream. and they pay me $50k a year to do it.

it's really how you sell and present yourself. i call myself a graphic designer because i can put together stuff in illustrator/photoshop but i have no real art skills and i dropped out of college. but i assembled a portfolio that apparently impresses people.

i'm the only "designer" here so nobody knows how long it takes to do any of the work i do. i probably average 2 hours of work a day but get paid for 8. some days i have literally nothing to do so i spend 6 hours on 4chan and then go home early.

Best bet would be to work and save up a shitton of money, then retire early. Or start an internet business, I know some people who've successfully done it and managed to basically leech off it while doing very little. Not quite NEET but still a life where you take it easy.

Been a NEET for 4 years, then got given an 9 month 'placement' Job.. finishes in november.

To be honest, its weird, and a kick in the pants now i know i don't want a job. at least, i don't want the gruel of getting up at 5 or 6am and fighting through the world to get to work, only to be bored stupid for 7 hours.

For the first few months i almost self destructed from depression, actually the only reason i'm still employed is because i have a massive guilt complex and pressure from my family.

Well when I first joined I was a little heavy for my height, did a 1.5 mile run in 14 minutes and could only do 30 push-ups and 20 sit-ups.

I was able to pass everything by the end, 11.5 minute 1.5 mile run, 50 push-ups and 45 sit-ups.

By doing this, I will conquer my own unlikeable traits: I will have befriended thirty people and have close relationships with them. I will provide for them, and they will be able to enjoy life under my caretaking. We will have fun every day with our combined toys - perhaps we can play LAN games or share our manga or other things? Of course, some of us would delve into our weeaboo passions, but other times we could have a nice BBQ and enjoy a good meal in the company of friends. I would not ask a single thing of them, in fact, I would hire a butler to manage our home. I would only hire a maid under a few certain restrictions, for I would not want her to feel uncomfortable in our home.

This is my dream. This is why I wake up every day, and I hope that in ten years I can make it so. In ten years, I will have these unbreakable friendships...
