I can understand someone being afraid to ruin the image by having the editor program handle color and contrast adjustement, but holy fuck, is it too hard to remove the dust and hair with the spot healing tool, then applying a much-needed unsharp mask?

Yeah I don't like them with dust either but I'm happy with any quality when there is no other scan available and I don't have the original.
Also the maturi loader are often used for linking pictures within discussions I think and not for pic collections so the person probably didn't want to bother with quality and just upped the scanned raw version.
