I saw a Chart here with VN recommendations.

Clannad was under "Awesome, but not for Beginners"

Why is it not for beginners?

Because it's long and the best part comes last.
Unless you've already experienced the ballcrushing boredom of common routes you're going to drop it halfway and just clear some routes.

In the time it takes to clear Clannad, you could have finished 10 other VNs of medium length. Or if you're still into anime, 75 whole 12 episode series. I can't see how you can justify that, unless you have played all other VNs that interests you at the moment.

That's quite interesting. I always found Fuuko's route the most emotional in Clannad (it was the closest thing to making me cry until the Tatarigoroshi ending, the first and so far only piece of fiction that has ever made me cry. I cried a lot), but it always seemed like everybody disagreed, so I thought I was the only one.

Voting systems never work. The vast majority of people are tasteless normals, so the vast majority of votes will be wrong. Anything that receives high acclaim from such public voting sites is more likely a very terrible excuse for a work, which is voted highly by the tasteless normals who overpower the small group of people with taste. 3D women are pretty highly rated among normals. Well, I don't know, but Suddenly finding out that everybody you knew has died because of a huge disaster of which you're the only survivor is pretty sad, especially with a direct writing style like Ryukishi07's - at that point, you feel like you are Keiichi, and that you have spent those three episodes in Hinamizawa. Then comes the realization that YOU WISHED FOR THIS (a moment I found very beautiful right before). The music fit very well, too. I never cried because of fiction before, but I just kept crying throughout the ending.

I guess it's just hard to understand, just like why most people can't seem to understand how moving Fuuko's ending is.

Chaos;Head is not in editing hell, though. Only a few minor fixes had to be made, but after that, it would be completely finished (although the Antifail patch already lets you play the entire game without problems, you only have no images), but since JAST USA got a partnership with Nitro+, its release has been stalled indefinitely in case JAST wants to release it officially. If JAST ever expresses disinterest (like they did with Kikokugai), it will probably see its 100% release.
