You got me there, sir. I will however say that Bern is very attractive physically, yet her personality is incredibly horrid and most people wouldn't want anything to do with her.

Just to counter you, though...Bern has a very glimmer of what can be considered "troubled moe." If Lambda is to be believed, then Bern was exactly like happy Rika before her GM gave up on her...this means that, for anyone who wants to believe it, Bern is at her breaking point and the minute she loses again she's going to break down into a huge moeblob. I personally hate that notion, and prefer Bern to be cruel and sadistic.

Again, I don't want her to become a nice girl under any circumstances, even if she gets "fixed." Unless she keeps her sadistic streak, she won't be my Bern anymore. I wouldn't mind if she was a bit nicer, but I like Bern as she is now. Rika being too cute is what turned me off from her, and if that happened to Bern...well, it just won't happen.

On another note, it seems that whatever trauma that Lambda had gone through (she mentions that she, like Battler and Bern, had gone through a never-ending hell before breaking out of it), she's gotten over it completely or just doesn't care.

Yeah because if you don't cut your wrists and complain all the time it means that you're alright. Even Lambda said in EP6 that sometimes she remembers that time and it still frightens her, that she wonders if her freedom isn't a dream and she's still trapped.

I forgot that detail, but I just remember when she was discussing her past she clearly wasn't bothered by it and spoke about it pretty well, whereas Bern avoided the subject altogether and yelled at Erika for bringing it up in the first place.

We're really not clear on a lot of things, and 6 years could mean 1000 witch years...so that makes things even more complicated. She could have very well been Miyoko and became her own being when Miyoko went to live with Takano and took his name...and then "came back" when her original self reached adulthood. Bern broke off when Rika escaped her eternal summer of 1983, so anything's possible.

Witches don't exist. Bern and Lambda are just personifications of some concepts, the characters written into the story by its author.

It doesn't matter how long the hell was for, but how intense the pain was. Rika always had her friends to back her up when needed. Takano had nobody. That and she was probably raped off-screen. I would think that's a pretty painful hell to rival Rika's, but that's just me.

Trolling is just the act of instigating conflict for no other purpose than the sake of itself and one's own amusement. Beato had a clear motive for everything she's done; to get Battler to reach the Truth. Bern's been doing far more horrible things ever since she started acting outright despicable. One example is completely destroying Natsuhi's fantasy that she was a valued member of the Ushiromiya household. It was unprovoked, served no purpose, and only was done to make Natsuhi feel bad. Beato never twisted the knife like that.

Bern also ruined Ange's life so that she could use her 12 years later as a game piece that would serve as a sacrificial lamb...and then showed Battler just how she died.
