Shkanonfags are hilarious.

>> No.5876030

OP here.

Both sides (pro and anti-Shkanontrice) are taking it the wrong way.

These screens come from Ep. 2 Chapter: Guest of Honor. As a summary:

- Rosa beats up Maria, who cries in the garden
- Kanon, who had received a Halloween candy from Maria earlier picks up the one Rosa smashed in her rampage and tries to exchange it for the one Maria gifted him.
- Maria refuses, and (take a look at the second and third pics) suggests that "a witch would be able to fix it," and stares at Kanon in a way that would imply that she knows that Beatrice is a dormant personality of his.
- Kanon starts feeling strange, almost as though something that was sleeping starts rising up in him

FADE TO BLACK

- Next scene, the adults are squabbling over the money as usual when Shannon enters, serves tea and leaves. Rosa and Kyrie have a talk meanwhile, and right after Shannon leaves, Rosa remembers her daughter is autistic and is probably still standing outside.
- Rosa goes outside and finds Maria, who refuses to return to the guesthouse because, in her words, she knows "'Beatrice' will come soon."
- "'Beatrice' appears as expected and uses a trick to restore Maria's candy (ie. Shkanontrice swaps it with the one she got earlier), gives Rosa + Maria the epitaph letters and waltzes off.

>> No.5876036

>>5876030
What we should take from this:
a.) Seeing as how the Beatrice personality isn't active most of the time, it's very probable that Maria's presence is one of the conditions for it to awaken. This is, of course, assuming that it's something outside of Shkanontrice's conscious control and that it's not just an act.

b.) In episode 4, Maria tells everyone she met Kinzo instead of Beatrice. If we infer that 'Maria receiving a letter from someone' is one of the rules of the gameboard and draw the conclusion that it's probably the same person giving her the letters each time, it would strongly suggest that the part 'Kanzo' theory about name inheritance is actually correct - when it's tied in with Shkanontrice.

Possibly, the difference in Episode 4 is that whatever it is that causes 'Beatrice' to awaken (the thing with Maria's Rose?) doesn't happen at the normal point it does in the story, the consequence being that it's normal Shkanon (who has inherited the title of Kinzo) giving the letter to Maria.

If this sounds dumb, I apologize; it just really stuck out for me as I was rereading the story.

Why? Even if the Shkanontrice theory exists, that doesn't mean it's complete. The understanding of Shkanontrice and its implications have evolved over time within the group of people who don't stubbornly deny it. What is known about the theory cannot be summarized with one word, and even if it could be, that summary would become obsolete very soon as new developments were made. So 'stop posting about Shkanontrice, it's done, let's talk about how suspicious Kyrie is' or whatever it is a bad suggestion.

The average ignorant Shkanon denier would for instance claim "so DID maid just conveniently switches personality for no reason and none of the 19 people who have been on the same island with them for 10 years know about it", which shows the gap of understanding between two people who supposedly know of the same theory.

The theory is there; it's solid, and the only weak points in it are due to lack of info, which the theorists expect to be given in the episodes to come.

Well, the point of aforementioned Kanzo theory is that Kanon was not the one who found the gold - Jessica did, after which she became 'Beatrice' and let him use the gold for personal reasons, such as making contracts with demons(bribing people), which made him another meta-Goldsmith, or Kinzo IRL.

Yet, it sure does create several problems. The pony core doesn't work nearly as much anymore. Kanon would have to be 19. In E2, Kanon dies in Jessica's room, you could read the scene so that they argued and he died, but it's still pretty shaky. E3 actually does make Eva the culprit, much more so than with "she only nearly killed Battler and then came to her senses". I could propably think of a few other minor things.

This thread is already so full of butthurt faggotry that my reply can't possibly make it worse, so what the Hell. I hated Shkannon because it felt like it'd be lame writing and just a variation on Shmion that Ryukishi could try to pull again. EP6 changed my mind. I'm not a fan of it, but I can accept it, because there's no way to deny it. Anti-shkannonfags are utterly blind. It's obvious and too late in the game for it to be a red herring, especially when you go back and see other things supporting it in the previous EPs.

However, Shkannontrice is bullshit. It would be terrible fucking writing to have them be the same person AND the culprit and have that solve everything. Just because they're the same person and clearly a key to the mystery doesn't mean they have to be the fucking culprit on top of it. They're involved alright, they're the same person, and that's as important a piece to the puzzle as Kinzo being dead. Doesn't mean they're fucking Beatrice on top of it. Shkannontricefags can argue for it all they want, but even if EP6 blatantly proved Shkannon, their 'hints' for Shkannontrice are no stronger than the hints to anything else people were reaching for in the earlier games.

They're connected to Beatrice but it doesn't mean they are Beatrice. I'll vote Jessitrice until Ryukishi comes out and tell me I'm wrong.

Not necessarily. There have been a few theories on this point.
-When all the personalities are alive, they can only count as one person. Once they die (are released as furniture) they can count as dead people and thus the only red where they are treated as separate people.
-Shannon and Kanon count as people but that's because everyone on the island either goes along with the act or are fooled by it. Beatrice on the other hand is only believed in by a few, Battler completely refuses to acknowledge her no matter what.

Battler being a huge idiot or JUST AS PLANNED?

Lamda says when looking at his cards that it could be a full house if he just gained one more card (Beato remembering). Plus it would fit in his Kinzofication that he would put all his fortune on an impossible bet. I think it can go either way.

More like five years, hombre, and take off another two for his terminal illness. I love how people accept it as fact that it happened to her, without considering the whole of everything.

Were Kinzo to really view Sayo as Beato, wouldn't she just be kept in Kuwadorian? Moreso, Sayo was BFFs with Jessica and courted by George for those 5 years as well.

The answer of Kinzorape is far too simple.

Higurashi TIP about dual personalities

"Although they appear a lot in movies, in simple terms, just what exactly are they?"
"They are believed to be a form of escape through having multiple personalities."
"Multiple personality disorders are a form of escape?"

"That's correct. Although we're still not clear about how the mechanism works, it is believed that perhaps they are a defensive measure taken by the brain in order to protect the mind."

"For example, there are some poor people would imagine themselves to be rich as a form of escape from reality, right? Are those considered to be multiple personality disorders as well?"
"We can't be absolutely certain, but in a wide sense, that would be the explanation. In other words, this is a phenomenon that's possible with anyone,"

"And when that escape from reality becomes indiscriminative, does it become a dual personality?"
"...That's a little difficult to say.... While there are some who advocate that theory, there are also others who deny it. It's still a topic under debate."

"Then for the field of psychiatry, multiple personality disorder is still a largely unknown and unexplained phenomenon?"
"Unfortunately, yes. We can expect more findings from future researches."

"But but~, dual personalities sounds kind of cool, don't you think~!? What kind of people can get dual personality disorders?"

"Rather than 'can get'..., maybe it's better to call it 'easier to get'.... According to recent researches, they're deeply involved with genetics as well as psychogenesis.... And among them, it is said that perhaps childhood abuse plays a particularly significant role in their development."
"Speaking of which, this A-kun has also suffered from child abuse too, didn't he~. Poor child~...."

Say there's a maze of doors. Shkanon is the first door and Ryukishi07 is telling us to start here with EP6. Entering that door is part of the finding the truth. The people who insist Shkanon is false refuse to enter the door so they make no progress.

First and foremost, DID does not work that way. In Matsuribayashi, Ryu proved that he knows shit about psychopathology - in this case, the disorder is portrayed very wrongly. Basically, at the moment when the personalites get know about each other, the whole person crashes down for a few weeks, one of the personalites(the mostly subconsious one) is destroyed, yet another one can come later to fill the role of said persons subconsious needs.

For most of other issues, someone post those pics with Natsuhi explaining and Kinzo coming up with it.

Just because the illness hasn't been fully understood doesn't mean you can just make up symptoms and use it in what is supposed to be a detective novel. This is kind of off the beaten path, but I've been thinking about the epitaph lately. I've seen some interesting solutions to it, but I got it in my head the other day that there might be something simpler about it.

Sadly, I didn't get far, but a few things jumped out at me- there is an island in the Izu Island archipelago named 'Hachijojima'. Also, one of the smaller islands is called Oshima, on which you would find Oshima Village.

The family's yearly journey to Rokkenjima might be symbolic of the 'sweetfish river', since each year they head out to the ocean, but then return to their homes (remember, none of them were actually born on Rokkenjima).

Is this an old idea?

>> No.5877648

Bern and Lambda are concept that were introduced by Hachijou to start the whole game.
Hachijou wrote Higurashi in the Umineko world, whoever "create" the Meta-world most likely has some connection with Hachijou and it's even possible that Hachijou is the one who made him/her start this whole game.
Hachijou probably made that person read lots of mystery novel to give them ideas to create all these closed rooms.

Although it's possible that Hachijou doesn't have a connection.
Then it would simply be that both Bern and Lambda are universal concepts found in mystery novels.
Hachijou who is a writer is of course superior to them and can use them in her stories.

Why they look that way? The person who create the meta-world may simply have read Higurashi and liked it a little too much.

I had a theory a long time ago, like back before 5 and 6, that I'm not sure how much water it holds anymore, but...Kumasawa is a servant who's been on the island as long as Genji and as long as Nanjo and Kinzo have been friends. She's not an eagle servant and she doesn't seem to appear in any Kinzo scenes even though the aforementioned who go way back with him always do. Genji and Kumasawa = Ronove and Virgilia, strongly hinted as having taken care of the EP3 Li'l Beato who Virgilia calls 'princess', the one who broke 'grandfather's' vase, etc...but she wasn't the original Beatrice. Virgilia was Beatrice to her in that scene, and Virgilia was the 'original Beatrice'. It would make some serious-ass sense if Kumasawa was Kinzo's original love, the original Beatrice, especially considering how suspiciously much she knows about the old legends of the island and whatnot.

But she is never present in any Kinzo scenes. Why? Kinzo is obsessed with his memory of the young and beautiful blonde, blue-eyed witch, and is blinded to the truth. Beatrice even says to him a few times in EP2 (when he can't see her and is raving at the portrait) "even though I'm right here, you can't see me", IE without love it can't be seen, etc etc etc...

I don't know if there are any FMAfags here, but I remember back to that filler episode in the first series where the mad alchemist was making clone dolls of his beloved who he thought died, but as it turned out was still alive, had lost and later regained her memory, but she was an old hag by then and he was too blinded and stupefied by her past beauty to recognize the truth that she was there by his side all along. I think this theory holds at least some water, and it can't be denied that Kumasawa is holding one of the keys - she's too fucking mysterious.

Can't confirm it for sure, but Genji and the others probably lie and say they don't work, so everyone assumes it's true. I think this happened with the case where Natsuhi and the cousins were in the study and the phonecall with Maria singing was heard.

Basically, "Is the meta-world a reflection of our reality? Or is our reality a reflection of the meta world?"

I suspect this is true as well. Kumasawa has worked for Kinzo for a long time, but claims to have only heard of Beatrice second-hand from Kinzo. But she was trusted enough to look after Beatrice #2 in Kuwadorian. Thus, it is probably safe to say that the original Beatrice had 'died' prior to Kumasawa coming to work for Kinzo.

What sparks my interest is the fact that Virgilia was the magic teacher of the current Beatrice, who referred to Kinzo as 'Grandfather'... If that was Beato #2 talking, the grandfather reference doesn't make sense, since she didn't have a paternal relationship with him- she just calls him Kinzo. And honestly, if one of the servants, even a child, called her employer Grandfather, I'm pretty sure Natsuhi or Eva would burst a blood vessel.

So...

Remember how Battler reached the truth? Don't stop thinking. Never stop thinking.
You'll never reach the truth if you stop thinking, you'll just think:
"Well, this theory is right. No need to discuss what possible flaws may be in it or discuss what strong points it has"

It's possible that the 'grandfather' thing was pre-whatever-mistake-Kinzo-made (be it the popular rape theory or otherwise, he rants in EP2 about how he regrets his mistake), and so the whole rough-speaking Beato who doesn't use honorifics came after that. Possible evidence in the fact that Li'l Beato was a great little magic student until [something], and Virgilia's remarked on how she didn't imagine she'd go down the path to the bad type of magic. Might also connect Beato to Maria and why they're so close, since we know Maria's diary showed evidence of her going from good magic to bad.

Grandfather probably isn't literal, either, and my personal theory is that it probably has to do with Fukuin House. EP6 right before Shannon and Kanon's duel was something interesting like that, too, about it being 'father's' sin, one possible interpretation being that it refers to Kinzo, or just in general that the Fukuin kids look at their caretakers as real parents. Kinda like how Shannon and Kanon are 'brother and sister' after all (whether Shkannon is true or not, them referring to each other that way can be a clue).

I too suspect Kumasawa is up to something

In ep V they reveal she always find an excuse for not working of the day of the family conference, but this year she didn't..

I'm going to shit bricks if Kumasawa turns out to have a one winged eagle right thigh. She covers up too damn much anyway.

I get it. Kyrie is both Lambdadelta and Bernkastel's piece. What do Lambdadelta and Bernkastel do to Beatrice in the meta world? Maliciously take over Beatrice's game and screw it up.

Kyrie is the one who takes over Beatrice's harmless fake murder game and turns it into a real murder game.
