To be fair, doujins with Momiji's cute fuzzy personality were usually either cute one shots, porn, or the bastard lovechild of the two. Most doujins that tried to give her any extended character tended to inch towards her now confirmed personality instead.

DS pissed me off. ZUN couldn't make it more obvious that he was writing in a personality for Momiji just to counter the usual interpretation. I'd be more accepting of it if Momiji already a slightest hint of a personality or story, but she didn't. You can't go back and write in a personality for a character you ignored at first just because you don't like what your fanbase did with said character.
