Crummy in danmaku, neither original or beautiful. In actual power, well she's a magician and some sort of monk, so she is probably pretty strong. However, do to the inconsistent canon its pretty hard to tell, but its probably safe to say that she probably isn't as powerful as some of the real monsters like the vampires or the oni who have been consistently placed on the top of youkai echelon in multiple canon sources.

We can get a grasp on the Touhou's powerlevels from ZUN's various books. PMiSS, CoLA, and SSiB has made it very clear that Shiki, Suika, Yukari, Eirin, and the Watatsuki sisters are the strongest. Followed by Yuuka, Ran, etc....

Don't forget that Reimu beat, Reisen, Tewi, Eirin, Kaguya, AND Mokou in a spellcard duel in one night. All the while insulting them. Yet Marisa, Remilia, Sakuya, and Reimu combined lost a fair duel against one of the Watatsuki sisters. In your defense however, ZUN has said that spellcard duels are fairly random i.e., even the strongest of youkai can still lose spellcard duels. Eirin is, however, much smarter than the Watatsukis.

Suika was only described to be the strongest from Aya's point of view in StB. As for the most powerful youkai, it has been mentioned several times that Yukari is the most powerful youkai and Ran is the strongest beast youkai. Note, however, that PMiSS has a sub-category for 'youkai' named youkai. So Yukari is not the strongest of youkai, she's just the strongest of the youkai group that Yuuka and others are in.

Oni youkai have been described as being the most (physically) strongest, Tengu youkai have been described as being the overall well rounded youkai with speed only matched by the vampires, and last but not least, the Death God youkai (Shiki) are implied to be the strongest since they're the only manifestation of youkai that made Yukari feel uneasy. The Onis are also implied to be strong because Suika is able to spar with Yukari. If you need citation for any of this just quote me.

Just compare her to Yorihime, who defeated Reimu without breaking a sweat. You want to talk about holding back, by her calculations she defeated Reimu and the gang only relying on 0.00001% of her abilities. Eirin however lost, even after receiving back up energy from Kaguya. Again, there really is no way of justifying her loss. I guess that's why she's known as the brains of the moon and not the brawn. The Watatsuki sisters clearly out match her.

Yorihime vs. Reimu didn't happen in a game. Any character can beat any other character depending on who's the PC at the time. Quit being a retard and just accept the fact that the only power levels are what's convenient at the time. This isn't some shitty shounen show where Krillin could never beat Cell or whoever the fuckin flavor of the month villain is. This is Touhou, where Yukari has canonically been defeated at least once by every character to appear in one of the fighting games. There are no fuckin powerlevels. There's plot convenience, and that's it. Reimu could kick Yorihime's ass if ZUN gave half a shit about her and actually put her in a game.

The truth about Kanako, Suwako, Byakuren, Koishi, and Satori is that their powerlevels are unknown seeing how they debuted 'after' the advent of PMiSS.

Yuuka was probably considered the strongest in the Touhouverse until Remilia and Yukari showed up. Ran might have been the strongest beast youkai until Shou showed up. Utsuho is never considered strong because ZUN explicitly said she was a weak youkai that stumbled upon immense power (e.g., Cirno with a nuke). I guess UFO's cast is considered weak because UFO was a game about 3 humans abusing every youkai they came across, especially Kogasa. It's also implied that many of the youkai in UFO are/were trying to get protection from humans (and/or have an inherent fear of humans). Our fan speculation is just speculation.

UFO is probably the only game that has a confirmed canon route, MarisaB. Which means that Marisa was able to beat Byakuren (which was probably not fighting seriously) and Nue.

We didn't get anything relevant from the UFO interview of ZUN, but I would say that Byakuren is pretty much at the same power as Yukari, maybe a little less (she was only a monk after all).

Can't say I recommend it as I did not enjoy it.
