Upload/request music using your browser: http://skully.hopto.org

Listen to the stream using your music player: http://skully.hopto.org:8000
If the stream is full, please connect to one of the relay servers, listed in the second post and on the website.

>> No.5794953 [DELETED]

As of now, this new system is still in beta. Please keep this in mind. Songs won't be requested automatically. We can switch to the old system anytime if something goes wrong.

Anyway, please give feedback over this new system. Post any error messages you get, post opinions, suggestions, whatever.

Main server now holds up to 7 people. The main server isn't redirecting people at the moment. Please connect to one of the relay servers manually if the main server is full.
Thanks to everyone who is hosting a relay server. Here's a list of the to me currently known relay servers:

http://pyonta-kun.kicks-ass.org:8000 (hosted by Pyonta-kun's Yandere Stalker)
http://warosu.org:8000 (hosted by Anonymous)

http://boof.kicks-ass.org:8000 (hosted by BOOF)
http://hentai.student.utwente.nl:8000 (hosted by leofox!tkMd2Fh4DM)
If you want to host a relay server yourself, ask in this thread for more information.

You can still submit logo's for the website. Make sure it's 300x100 and I'll make sure it's in the rotation. Lets see some of that /jp/ creativity.

Point out any problems you have with V2. It's still being worked on, and if there are any major problems we'll just switch to the old version.

Enjoy!

My relay (http://pyonta-kun.kicks-ass.org:8000) is going down in about 30 minutes or so for quick maintenance. You should probably take this time to migrate to a different relay if you're still on mine.

I'll have it back up shortly after.

>> No.5801125

As of right now, it's possible to upload both MP3 and OGG files, but keep in mind OGG files do not properly display their tags on the site. This means that it'd be best to remove any Japanese from an OGG file before uploading it, if possible.

As always, feedback is always appreciated. Post any error messages you get, post opinions, suggestions, whatever.

Main server holds 7 users. There are a number of relay servers up that automatically redirect you when the main server is full, so don't worry. If you are not automatically redirected, you can manually connect to them. There's a page on the main site to check what relays are currently up.

Thanks to everyone who is hosting a relay server. Here's a list of the to me currently known relay servers:

Also, if you'd like to join our Skype chatroom, you can search for Jaypee Radio. Once you add that account, you should be accepted to the chatroom shortly. It may also be a nice idea to let us know in the thread that you've added the radio account, so we can get to your request faster.

Electric bill for this month was pretty high. My old house never had problems with my computer running 24/7, but I dunno if the old wiring in this place eats up electricity or something.

Starting today I'll see if turning my computer off while I sleep makes a difference in my bill or not. I'm still keeping it on a majority of the time though, since I'm always on my computer when I'm awake, but be prepared for my relay to go down around times I'm going to sleep.

Ironically, today I'm actually sleeping early because I have plumbers coming in tomorrow, so expect pyonta-kun.kicks-ass.org:8000 to go down in about an hour. I'll put it down between songs, so you don't get kicked off in the middle of a song you like. Be sure to check http://skully.hopto.org/playing.php?page=relays for an updated list of what relays are online.

Go to http://skully.hopto.org, that's the main site. From there you can connect with your music player (Now Windows Media Player. Winamp, Foobar, iTunes, VLC, etc. should all work fine, but not Windows Media Player) by going to the "vew relays" page and picking out one that's online when you click "listen"

If you're on google chrome or something and it doesn't auto-load the file, load it manually into your player.

Alternatively, you can just manually play the url in your music player.

For example, I can just put "http://skully.hopto.org:8000" in my music player and it'll play the stream fine for me.

All I've got in my "assorted computer parts bucket" right now is a slow as fuck 120GB laptop HDD that I've been meaning to format. I'm guessing this probably won't be useful to you.

What happened? Are you sure it's dead? When my SATA cable bit the dust it looked like my hard drive was totally fucked, but it was just because there were a shitload of errors writing in and reading out of the HDD because of the cable. chkdsk wouldn't even finish, it would just hang.

Also, if you're sure that the HDD has eaten it, but it still spins, look up "Spinrite" - it's an expensive program that boots from a CD, but it can do near miraculous levels of data recovery.

Well the problem that I was having now is that every time I tried to re-analyze the touhou lossy collection, traktor would semi hang on one song and basically lock up the whole computer. I could tell by the way it was acting that it was hanging on something data related, not your usual memory/cpu errors or something of the sort. I ran chkdsk on the drive that the songs were on and it came back clean, oddly enough.

I'm not sure if it's traktor or my hard drive that's acting up at this point. The hard drive is due for replacement (S.M.A.R.T. says it needs to go, plus it's 3-4 years old), but it looks like it's still working for the moment. I'm going to do some messing around in traktor to see if it's the problem. Worst case there I have to delete the entire collection file and queue every song back up manually. That's not fun.

A guy I know is selling two WD black 640s for 85$ though, if I had the cash I'd just go pick those up and start on a fresh installation.

Eh, it's retying it with IME won't make a difference. What determines if tags are read properly is usually what tags the song is using. Without going too much into depth about it, when you write tags using Windows normally, you're just writing ID3v1 tags; these tags are fine really, since Pyonta made a script that rips ID3v1 tags from a song and re-writes them into ID3v2.4 tags instead. Aside from a few odd cases that we're still not sure why (I suspect ID3v1.1 tags, but these cases are quite rare and I always forget to look into that before fixing their tags), songs with just ID3v1 tags should transfer without any problems.

If you use a program to write tags, chances are they wrote the tags in some format other than ID3v1 (ID3v2.3 is quite common)

Pyonta hasn't made the script detect anything other than ID3v1 yet, so these tags usually mess up in the process of upload. The only way to fix this would bbe to get a tagging program (we use mp3tag) and remove all tags except for ID3v1 or ID3v2.4. If you need help with how to do that, I can be of assistance.

However, you don't really have to go through so much trouble. I'll tell Pyonta about this tomorrow and we'll see what happens. I don't like telling you guys that you have to edit your own tags before uploading, and I'm fine with fixing the tags for you. Just tell me the names you used while uploading so I can find the file by filename (if the tags are broken, this is all I'm left with to hunt it down) and fix the tags for you.

In other words, it's not really your fault, and you don't have to really go so far to fix it yourself. If you don't find any problem fixing it yourself, I can help you in doing that, but an alternative would be for me to just go into the database and fix stuff up for you.

Yeah, the tags are written in ID3v2.3, which doesn't display correctly on the site. Not really your fault, don't worry. Before the stream I didn't even care about tagging either, so never knew about this crap either. As long as it displayed on my MP3 player, I didn't have to worry about it.

We're trying to automate this process so you guys don't have to do any real work when uploading, but there are still some kinks in it.

I'll fix the tags right now. If there are any other songs that you uploaded and don't display properly, you can tell me and I'll take care of them for you.

XIV is XI with prettier graphic asnd a different storyline (lol, story in MMOs).

Too bad XI was a complete piece of shit and nothing could save that game. The controls were absolutely godawful nad optimized for a gamepad so i tmade combat really terrible for a MMO. The bosses were boring as hell, the endgame was almost absent and the (LEVELLING!) grind took years.

Oh and XIV is optimized like complete ass os you need a computer htat's about 10 times better than what you should reall yneed to run the game.

Do you have an irc channel yet?
Also, I might as well host a relay. What do?

>> No.5855733

>>5855685
The closest we have to an IRC channel would be our Skype chatroom (you can add Jaypee Radio).

As for setting up a relay, you'd need to get Shoutcast and edit the configuration.

You'd look for this part:

; RelayPort and RelayServer specify that you want to be a relay server.
; Relay servers act as clients to another server, and rebroadcast.
; Set RelayPort to 0, RelayServer to empty, or just leave these commented
; out to disable relay mode.
RelayPort=8000
RelayServer=skully.hopto.org

It won't look exactly like that, and since Skully is full right now on reserved slots, you'd probably have to use hentai.student.utwente.nl instead or something.

Make sure to remove the semicolons before RelayPort and RelayServer.

In any case, we're not really in need of new relays right now, so you don't have to stress yourself over getting a relay up.

We're actually discussing the skip feature right now. Only a few songs have actually been skipped before, and we realize that people are using it less and less. It's either because people don't want to hear a song get skipped, or people just sit through it and don't skip request at all because they don't think they'll gather enough votes for it.

The initial number was more of a test anyway, since we didn't want the number to be too high or too low, but it seems it is perhaps a tad bit high.
