I killed to many people to get my wonderful flying fortress that is Titan.

Messing with your save so your very first ship has class 10 weapons is a blast. That "run for your life to escape liberty" bit becomes "how many battleships can you blow up before asian lady flies into a planet and gets herself killed?"

No way man, killing people is the anathema to successful drug trafficking.

You have to beat the game to have full access to all the jump gates etc and by the time you finish the storyline your rep is waaaaaaaaay high for all the faction police\military forces and horrible for all the crime syndicates except maybe one or two.

The key is to start hanging around with the neutral factions, the junkers and the ones who live in the uncontrolled areas of space then pay them huge bribes to get you in good with the criminals. That ruins your rep with the police forces though so even if you can get to Malta to buy the cardamin (and the kickass ship they have for sale) you can't get to Manhattan where it fetches the best price.

So you then have to bribe people to get you in good with the police, then run a few missions for middle of the ground parties until finally nobody likes you but no one hates you either.

Then you can run long, boring missions across the galaxy for huge profit that's pointless because you've already got the best of everything.

Saber is arguably second best after Titan. Saber has actually useful turret that can shoot upfront, titan has a heavier armour and like 25% more energy which is crucial with level 10 weapons. Overall they are pretty much on pair and significantly better than the thrid level 10 fighter, Eagle, that tries to go for speed, but still is a heavy weight with less guns and armour than other two. If I wanted a fast ship, I would go for a something from a lower level.

They hate bounty hunters. Most of their quests are about killing them. I don't remember the exact place, but they are in the omicron areas. I'm pretty sure you could get to them from the Neutron star area, but don't take my word on it.

And yeah, that would be pretty cool. I'm thinking about reinstalling it right now, but then again, I beat the game so hard I can't play it anymore. After finding the planet of the apes and robots I just don't know what to do in this game.

There are few secret worlds that you can find while traveling the Omicron. This is one of them, accessible from the Corsair system or something.
It looks pretty weird, just like the final world you visited during the story. There are two worlds, one of them populated by robots, another one by apes. You can't really do anything there. Oh, and it's fucking giant with ridiculous distances you have to fly. I tried to get to the end of it, but I don't think it's possible, even though it looks that way.
It is also populated by nomads. Fucking annoying patrols

Anything that seems absurdly awesome in Freelancer is probably from the Discovery mod. And for every good bit, there is a horrible counterpart.

I remember that, lol. Easter eggs are fun. My favorite out-of-the-way system was the ringed (!) binary star system with the sky-blue, well, sky, and gray-white Niobium asteroid belts/dust clouds. Coming out of the dust cloud and seeing the ringed blue and yellow stars was the most awe-inspiring surprise in the game for me.
