Why don't you just create a second folder, move all the images into that folder, then delete the original.
You'd save everyone a lot of trouble by just deleting that folder in the first place.

To Rename A Folder
- Click on the folder once
- Wait half a second
- Click on the folder's name
- Type in new name

- Click on the folder and keep the button held down
- Drag the folder to the trash can icon
- Release the mouse button
- Click on the trash can and hold down the mouse button
- Select "empty trash" from the menu which pops up
