So the Elder, then, is the original idea of Beatrice from Kinzo, and the Beatrice Battler created was an ideal of that Beatrice from Shannon, who used it as a tool to love Battler so she could love George.

And at some point in those 6 years, something caused SHANNON-Beatrice to make the illusion of the witch real, culminating in the murders of 1986.

But then, what's the origin of Beatrice the Elder? I wonder...

its most of the problem though, just like Battler was saying before, most of the murders/loopholes can be explained with Beato/Shannon/Kannon being the killer/master planner.

The only things left would be, why does everyone die at the end of the 2nd day (lol bomb theory), where the original gold to kinzo came from, and where it is hidden now (which as english readers we probably wont find out because its a japanese riddle/wordgame)

They ARE willing to kill everyone for a fucking stupid reason, I mean goddamn, if you didn't find Shannon and Kanon's speech during their duel ominous as fuck you have no soul.

Three people being in love with the same person NEVER ends well, even MORE SO when the person in question will or wants to KILL THEM.

my theory on this being:

Kinzo instructed the servants to use it to kill the family during the meeting. Kuwadorian being the location of the gold would be safe from the explosion, so anyone in it would be safe and be able to stop the twilights from happening or continue it at their own discretion. So technically if one finds the gold they can choose to save the family by moving them all to kuwadorian, or continue the twilights using the servants, as the new Ushiromiya heir.

>> No.5630184

>>5630094

I disagree. I think that the motive we've been given is shaky and incomplete, and doesn't satisfactorily explain the Meta-world.

Or to put it more in the context of Higurashi, Shkannon is like H-syndrome, which explained most of the major mysteries of Higurashi, but was actually more of a keystone to solving the real mystery of who kills Rika and destroys Hinamizawa.

Shkannon is the same, in that it explains Beatrice, but leaves many questions regarding the actually mystery we've been examining. I guess I think this because I still doubt that Beatrice is the real mastermind. But it's not entirely unreasonable.

Or maybe Episode 7 really is the last one and this is pretty much our answer arc before the finale.

Anyway to see this is that Kanon/Shannon is the bad guy. Beatrice was a tool used by them to mask their murders. Thus Beato making the game is a way to make Battler notice this.

This is also why I believe that Shkannon is more like H-syndrome than Takano being the killer.

H-syndrome was also a pretty crappy plot device, but it ended up being used well to explain Takano and the Yaminu.

If we think of Shkannon being the answer for everything then this is all kind of dumb, I get that, and agree.

If Shkannon is the first step to a greater solution, then we can use it effectively.

remember the letters at the beginning before the first twilight? begging the family to solve the riddle of the epitaph? the murders are to bring credibility to the riddle in that they will all die unless they solve it, and the riddle is used to determine the new heir.

Also you find it hard to believe that people who had spent their whole lives being raised by kinzo would be willing to die for his wishes? Shannon/Kanon and Genji have both been under Kinzo for the majority of their lives remember?

Yeah, but remember, Beatrice's soul got absorbed by Shannon in the duel. So BEATRICE AND KANON'S SOUL WERE BOTH ABSORBED BY SHANNON. There's really not too much else that could mean.

I hate every last one of them. Oh, right, you're smart enough to be a mastermind with locked rooms(to be frank, she really ISN'T, once you realize that Shannon is Kanon, but the narration tells us she is), but not smart enough to realize that MURDERING YOUR FRIENDS AND FAMILY IS BAD.

Battler's "sin" is retarded. He was twelve years old. You murder 16 people in something akin to a forced suicide pact because you got rejected by a twelve year old? You petty bitch!

to rip off of some of the older /jp/ theories, he was only part of the problem, I'm willing to bet Kinzo saw Shannon/Kanon dressed up as Battler's perfect girl, thought it was his Beatrice from his youth, and started to swoon over her and subjected her to sexual abuse for six years that felt like 1000 years to her. until he finally died of natural causes. I imagine thats the reason why she hates yet loves Battler, she blames him for what happened to her.

I think you're being a bit reckless in calling them the killer.

Or in calling them Beatrice.

Jessica is much more likely to be Beatrice.

In Ep4, Kanon dies 9th, in Red. Battler finds Shannon's corpse in the place where his should be.

George dies at some point later. This is witnessed by Jessica. She tells Battler about it over the phone.

Jessica, then states that she will be killed by being hit in the head.

After all this takes place, Battler has a conversation with Beatrice on the Balcony. Where he is asked about his sin, he cannot respond to it. Beatrice leaves and says she has no hope.

This Beatrice is Jessica. After this, she poisons Maria, telling her that they will all wake up in the Golden Land. She then goes to her room, locks the door behind her, and, similar to Judge Warren from And Then There Were None, she rigs a device to shoot herself in the head, committing a suicide that looks like a murder. This leaves Battler the last person on the island.

See the attached death notice.

I think you're jumping to conclusions here. If Battler's sin really was something so stupid, he wouldn't act like he does now (accepting Beato and apologizing to her). Even Ange remarks how it's strange, there's something else going on with this.

Which is silly. First off, it's not Battler's fault that Kinzo is an asshole. Second off, more importantly, the idea of Kinzo raping Sayo doesn't quite make a ton of sense. Kinzo was a dying old man at least two and a half years prior to the start of the game.

If he could have been Mr. Raper guy, he wouldn't have had a long timespan to do it.

Third off, she had not one, but two people who cared for her very much to the same extent, if not more, than Battler did. George and Jessica.

The mass murderer's problems are her own.

Sexual abuse is definitely alluded to very strongly. Particularly sexual abuse where Kinzo is the most likely the perpetrator.

Rosa's memories of being locked in a dark room that replay during her encounter with Maria/Sakutaru.
Natsuhi's alleged Sexual Relationship with Kinzo at the Fourth Game.
Constant scenes of Kinzo/Beatrice in the metaverse.
The Real Beatrice's Balcony conversation.

It could be Shannon.
It could also be Jessica.

Jessica is in a very vulnerable position. Kinzo wanted an Heir, he made Natsuhi raise Jessica, a daughter that was not hers. Neither Krauss nor Natsuhi seem particularly close to Jessica and if they were essentially forced to raise her for the inheritance, they may have grown to resent her. Her only real person to protect and defend her would have been Kinzo and the Servants. Kinzo, if a rapist, could have preyed upon this.

So when he dies, it is half a blessing for Jessica-- she is no longer his sexual servant.
It is also half a curse for Jessica. She now has no protection from Krauss and Natsuhi.

This is why Beatrice is referred to by Bern as a pawn that can become a queen-- she is an accomplice to the murders, and her Beatrice persona is high-jacked as the cause. She is forced to participate but in Game 2 and in Game 4 she manages to become the Queen by killing off everyone else.

There was no switch.

Theory on the Two Battlers
------------------------------------
Battler1 is Rudolf's son Battler, born from Kyrie and Rudolf.
Battler2 is Rudolf's daughter Jessica, born from Asumu and Rudolf.

Rudolf had promised Kyrie that their child would be raised with the Family Name. Natsuhi did not have an heir and needed a daughter. When Rudolf brought the problem to the attention of Kinzo, Kinzo had Natsuhi agree to raise the child to produce an heir.

EP5 white text confession was, as Battler said, useless. There are several interpretations of what happened to the Servant That Fell From The Cliff. The one in Lambda Delta's game was a hint, but not an actual answer. Ep2 may be closer to the truth.

So:

Rudolph then without the knowledge of Asumu, passes off their daughter into Natsuhi and Krauss.
Rudolph then without the knowledge of Kyrie, passes off Battler to Asumu, and raises Battler as his own son.

Rudolph worries that he will be killed as he is the only person outside of Kinzo, Natsuhi, Krauss, and Kinzo that knew the truth. This is because of the Inheritance. This is also why Natsuhi is identified in Ep6 as one of Battler's enemies by Beatrice.

Nope.
Umineko enjoyment has been going downhill due to shitty revelation and absurb plot twist by the author.
It is the opposite of Ever17 where the revelation mindfucked but instead in Umineko, we need to suspend our belief and take the stupidity as the truth.
Like what Lambda said, it is turning into fantasy.

But no, I do not think that Shannon is the culprit. I think she is likely being coerced by George who remains the creep.

In Ep6, they talk about how Marriage is one of the ultimate forms of imprisonment. I think a lot of that alludes to George.

Also, in EP2, when Shannon leaves with the Servants, George goes with them.

Wolf and Sheep Puzzle. He's a wolf and he needs to watch over her and make sure that everything goes as planned.

Episode 6 is a sledgehammer. I see why the Shkanontrice guys were so insistent, not because they had discussed some huge secret, but because THIS EPISODE WON'T SHUT THE FUCK UP ABOUT SHANNON AND KANON BEING THE SAME PERSON(in addition to Beatrice)

With that said, I'm much more interested in how Jessica and George fit into this mess, if indeed at all.

OK, since Shkanontrice is essentially confirmed at this point, the conclusion becomes that Jessica, George, and Battler were all in love with the same person (or body, if you're going to call different personalities different people). In other words, three of the four cousins. It stands to reason that this pattern should continue for Maria. Sakushkanontrice confirmed for truth.

Ok, started reading EP 6. I came across something I found interesting. Early before Battler's arival Kanon and Shannon are having a conversation about love and Kanon says "Otherwise,.....even I...!!" (Shannon responds "Even I?" here) "Even I,......wanted to love Milady...!!!" I find this remarkable because way back in EP 1 on his first meet with Battler he mutters "....even I,..........." except this is obviously directed at Battler. So if we assume Kanon and Shannon had the same conversation previously in episode 1, this means that Kanon obviously has the hots for Battler.

I agree with you in part.

I personally think that Bern is really going to show us the worst sides of everyone though. And I think its going to be an ugly and cruel game. It's going to cut very very very very very deep and messy and what we will get is going to be a possible truth at the end. There is no possible closure from a game written by Bern.

But I don't think it will be the only possible truth and I think EP8 will find a way to give something with more closure.

In Bern's/Featherine's game, the lies are going to be cruelly exposed by others and torn to peaces against their will. Everyone is a conspirator, a murderer, an accomplice, or guilty of something. No one does anything noble or brave. It's a massacre motivated by Greed, Revenge, and Malice. It is a game of: Proving Guilt & Punishment.

I hope for something Gentler after that. Something that can actually give closure. And in the Murder Mystery Genre, only one thing can do that: Confessions. The end of the lies. The one and real truth. The end of a world of possible truths and the resolution of it into what is real. I would like a game of: Forgiveness. Reconciliation. Acceptance.

I can't imagine this ending with the next episode. Especially because in Higurashi we had an arc where all of the truth was revealed but it was not the last arc. So I would imagine we'll get something with more closure.

That's exactly what I had in mind. The doctors usually slap the baby to make sure its alive, if she's unconscious, she can't hear it. In addition to what type of anesthesia she receives, she won't be able to see the baby directly for some time. But why would they deny her seeing the corpse if the Jessica and Battler theory is true? She shouldn't be denied the right to see her baby even if its dead. The Japanese, according to George, cremate their dead as custom or something, which apparently includes stillborns.

With that, Asumu and Natsuhi get a child, but Kyrie gets nothing..nothing to even bury/cremate and that's an unsettling feeling for someone like Kyrie who thoroughly checks things through and was looking forward to its birth.

That's not a real reason either bro. Kanon is just caught up in the moment because the maid whore mind raped Kanon into it. So people are getting mad because of LOLDOINGITFORLOVE, but why hasn't anyone brought up the possibility that the Shannon who may or may not be committing the murders is not the same, personality-wise, as the Shannon who fell in love with Battler and later created Beatrice? Remember, Battler stated in Episode 1 that the Shannon now acts differently from the Shannon of six years before, and in Episode 6 Shannon acts like she was created just like Kanon rather than having been the one to create.

Though that would, of course, mean that a fourth personality (the original) would be involved somehow...

Jessica didn't corner Kanon, that was mostly Shannon's doing. Hell, Jessica just wants to take it slow.

The main problem is that Jessica just wants to start a relationship and see where it goes, while Kanon, due to Shannon and his own psychotic self, is practically asking her to marry him.

This is evident with Jessica not being able to tell Kanon why she loves him. It's not a bad thing, she even says she wants to learn why she likes him.

Sadly for Jessica, entering a sane relationship with Kanon is impossible.

No.

It was because he needed a legitimate heir.

If anything, he preferred Kyrie. He wanted to raise their baby and gave Asumu's away.

Jessica is currently recognized as the heir by default through being the daughter of the progenitor.

George being an Heir would be based on the line already passing down through a woman. That's not normal for large fortunes in traditional families.

Battler would have a good claim to some part of the fortune, but lack of seniority would put him on even footing with George.

Maria through Rosa has the weakest shot. Normally she would just get a stipend-- basically something like 5%-10%. Granted, Kinzo's fortune seems large enough that it doesn't really matter.

What I find interesting is that even when the gold is found, murders took place. At this point, the Direct Children with the strongest and weakest claim disappear, all of the grandchildren with claims, and Genji, an accepted accessory disappear.

That's pretty interesting stuff.

I haven't read the whole thing yet, but so far I have liked Ep 6 so very, very, very much more than Ep 5, even if it pretty much cements in Shkannon.

Ep 5 was horseshit where semi-logical debate was replaced with magical bullshit "rules" that were used as a catch-all for everything. Removing them immediately changed things for the better.

Also, Moetrice is <3.

>> No.5632053

>>5632030

It is bullshit. The Knox rules turn the "game" from fantasy versus realism to fantasy versus different kind of fantasy. There are no divine rules in real life that guarantee the "detective" is handed all evidence on a platter, or give the detective divine authority to enter any room, molest any corpse and generally do whatever the fuck she pleases.

Fuck Erika wouldn't have even needed to DO anything in Ep 5. She could have lounged the entire time on her ass in some room and just demanded, via the Knox rules, that all the evidence just materializes in front of her.

Ep 5 was atrociously bad. Its only high point was that Dlanor's ^ mouth is cute.

>> No.5632089

>>5632053
No, the rules are fine, it's the interpretation that's wrong. For one the detective shouldn't be aware of the rules applying to a fiction she's in.

Knox isn't for the detective, it's for the reader. Whose purpose is indeed to sit on his ass until all clues are presented. That's the essence of a puzzle, and fair mysteries are puzzles.

So basically Erika is bullshit because she's cheating, she's both reader and in-fiction detective. But the rules are fine.

But understand also that "there are so such rules in real life" is not a valid objection. It's not real life, it's a mystery, a puzzle. It has been since the first announcement before the first game.

That being said, those rules do have a real-life equivalent, Occam's razor. "Keep it simple", basically, go for the simpler explanations first. No need for secret passages if it can be explained without them, and thus "go for the secret passage-less explanation first", because it's easier to analyse. If it turns out to be wrong, then you go for the more complex stuff. As Dlanor said, it's a crutch, not a steadfast rule.

Yet the characters in it should not be aware of that - like you just yourself said. From the perspective of Battler, Erika and company, Umineko should not be "fantasy vs. mystery", it should be "fantasy vs. reality". Even though we, the actual readers, know it's a mystery, nobody inside the game world or even meta world should know. (Maybe Featherine should be allowed to know, but fuck her, she's not interesting in the first place.)

I get what you mean, and I agree - the rules themselves are okay and serve just to guarantee that the story is solvable and it's the interpretation and awareness of the rules that's the problem. That's pretty much what I meant. But that doesn't change that episode five is pure bullfuckery, because of that awareness and the replacement of actual detective work with appeal to rules and redtext falling from the sky.

Out of episodes so far I'd definitely rank 5 the lowest of all. So far 6 has been much, much better.

This though... It doesn't make it right, but I think the fact that nobody addressed this issue before the murders happened is very important. The murderer is excused on the account that the murdered caused it to themselves for not taking appropriate actions with mentally unstable people.

>> No.5632298

>>5632194
>nobody inside the game world or even meta world should know
actually, it's fine for the meta world, because of the whole way the meta world started in the first place. Battler swore he'd explain the murders as a mystery, so Beatrice has been playing along with that.

Could even be an on-board echo of the fact Battler and a few others (at the very least Nanjo and Kyrie) are mystery fans, so naturally when faced with murders they'd try this approach for a solution. And the others would be drawn in because they're all used to mind games to some extent solely because of their family's situation.

Erika's really the only problem is that, but it's pointed out repeatedly she crosses the meta boundary (ie breaks the fourth wall, but to the meta observers, not the reader) so it's not surprising. But it's also mentioned several times she's a fictional construct who probably never even really existed on the island.
