I noticed that there are some bad rumors flying around about Bunbunmaru, so I want to clear up a few things.

Myth: /bun/ was made by people unrelated to 4chan.
Truth: /bun/ was created in a /jp/ thread and is only used by /jp/sies.

Myth: Only /jp/'s worst tripfags use /bun/.
Truth: The tripfags and the shitposters only use #bun, which is hardly related to /bun/ (just like /jp/ is completely different from #/jp/). /bun/ has forced anonymity, and most of /jp/'s shitposters don't want to go there since their posts usually get deleted.

Myth: /bun/ is dead.
Truth: It's true that /bun/ is a slow imageboard and only gets a few posts a day, but it's not dead.

Myth: /bun/ has too many off-topic non-otaku-related discussions.
Truth: /bun/ has 2 boards. /general/ is for otaku-related discussions only. /photos/ is for everything else.

Myth: /bun/ has strict mods.
Truth: /general/ mods only delete obvious spam, flames, and trolls. /photos/ board is almost completely unmoderated.

But it's still interesting to look at once a day.

I'd imagine most people that go to #/jp/ also come to /jp/. #/jp/ is mostly a subset of /jp/. #bun is also a subset of the union of /bun/ and /jp/.

I used to confuse /bun/ and #bun all the time. And the /bun/ projects board is actually great stuff:

Myth: Your post will bring you more traffic.
Truth: It's still a slow undead board, and always will be.

Hurr, I advertise bun durr durr

God, we really need a mod that is not scared of banning people.

You're crazy. Our mod bans everyone when he comes by here once every month.

don't hide your tripcode next time you make a thread.

The board is dead. Why won't the owner just shut it down?

So that we can have a place to go to in case /jp/ disappears?

Unlike the FRIEND CIRCLE LULZ XD under Sion's banner which comes over from IRC to shit up /jp/, whoever tries to shit up /bun/ gets banned immediately.

Protip: the mods of /bun/ are /jp/ oldies who decided to do it during /jp/'s worst time: the Dawson spam/Cirno day. This should say something.

Protip #2: KoG hates this place. That should say something too.

Also >>5631302

The whole /bun/ hate was started by one single idiot who had nothing to do with its creation. Of course he was enough to create a bandwagon.

No I am not a mod there, although I was in that fateful thread.

>>5631331
uh huh, yeah sure. That's why so many shitposters are not banned from here right? and we don't have any spam around done by the same people over and over and etc, etc, etc, etc.

Everyone has a dynamic IP these days. It's not hard to avoid a ban.

"Disappears" could also mean so much spam and raid that the frontpage (as well as the 15 pages after it) is empty when filtered.

Myth: Jones is a mod at /bun/.
Truth: Jones only wrote a search script for /bun/. He is not a mod there.

/bun/ is cool.

It's those #bun troublemarkers that we need to watch out for (especially their ringleader Anonymous H. Jones).

>> No.5631394

>Myth: /bun/ has too many off-topic non-otaku-related discussions.
Except it's true. A fair amount of topics unrelated to otaku stuff gets posted in /general/. The most obvious example right now is the World Cup thread.

>Truth: The tripfags and the shitposters only use #bun
False as well. Only two current tripfriends, one whom usually posts anonymously (and of course the other is Jones, but he also posts anonymously more often nowadays). A lot of the people in #bun don't even lurk /jp/ at all, although most active people there do pass by the ghost board on a regular basis.

You are just as bad as Kimmo.

Fucking normalfags.

>> No.5631414

Even though it seems the majority of new /jp/ hates it, /bun/ is a great board.

Close to no shitposting, lots of topic variety, and even the pace of the board is great for ongoing discussion.

If it had more insightful and productive users that would be great too, but I'm fine as it is. I still check it quite a few times daily for anything interesting, and it's still much much better than /jp/ will ever be.

Yeah, it feels like all of the /bun/ hate is coming from one person who is angry about getting banned for posting Bawson.

/bun/ barely has any eroge related stuff and I'm sick and tired of searching for them, and/or trying to make more discussion by bumping those few threads when I'd be the only poster replying there. No thank you.
