Flandre and Remilia's parents could be humans. Their family was attacked by a pedo-vampire which explains their loli forms.

Flandre and Remilia's parents were truly in love. One day, however, a great demon came to their village. Using her powers, she summoned many beasts. Out did the beasts pour and devoured many of the villagers. There existed a legend of a great vampire who could help the villagers in the time of need in exchange for the sacrifice of 2 virgins. This vampire, her name being ********, saved the village, but at the cost of Flandre and Remilia. Eventually, due to the Church's growing influence, the Knight's Templar was sent to wipe out the great vampire who was both a legend and a devil to the villagers. *******, who knew of Yukari, cast a spell on Flandre and Remilia, and she herself, tired of living for so long, decided to die. Remi and Flan were taken by Yukari and have been living in Gensokyo ever since.
