Could you recommend me your favourite Touhou doujinshi?

I'm new to this universe. I've recently found that there are a lot of fan work. For example:

Note the "Click here if the image fails loading" link at the bottom of image windows. Images are partly distributed in a P2P scheme (I'm hosting 5 gigs myself) and some hosts fail, so click that link to request the page again.

If only I had the black Tewi image to help out with your predicament. That's only my opinion but I think you should start with the more family friendly works. Go read everything but happy flame time, you'll get a good overview on how idyllic and heartwarming Gensokyo can be. When you get to know some characters better you can move to some game plot retellings by FlipFlops. If you're into the darker side of things I would recommend everything by Asatsuki Dou.

>> No.5617012

As I've said before, there are 3 ways to play Touhou:

1: Take your autism pills to turbocharge your autism, and slowly build up your skills by getting horribly raped over and over. Results in you having another 1-player vidya skill to be 'proud' of.

2: Set the game to easy mode so the danmaku is like a thin mist that you can easily weave through. Results in you becoming a disembodied head and taking it easy.

3: Google yourself up an infinite lives hack, get good'n drunk, play on lunatic mode. Also known as ZUN-style, results in the game being entertaining even for casuals while providing accelerated skill growth over time if you actually try to dodge.

Start by reading the character bios in the wiki.

All of them. And all of it. Because you won't know just from the list of names who is important and who won't matter at all. And the bios have a lot of stuff about memes and fanwank that will help in understanding doujin.

Then read the translations of the games.

Then whatever you want. You could start with the ZUN-written stuff, but most of the important stuff is covered in what you should have already read, and his stuff isn't better than most doujin anyways. He's just as bad at Mary Sue-ing as anybody.
