Not quite true with modern esotericism and thelemistic thought. They spend their free time in the same place.
Some angels are assholes (Nethhiah), some demons are assholes (Vriel).
Some angels are bros (Michael), some demons are bros (Phoenix).
Both can be placated and pleased, and conversely you can piss both sides to an extent where they will harm you.
The distinction is not clear, and this is why many prefer to call them spirits instead of angels/demons.
