This is followed by a new series based around the witches trying to recover Battlers soul from oblivion by jumping to worlds similar to his own.(but not even close to the same) In it they slowly construct him from the parrallel versions of him adsorbing the qualities that are the same as the lost version of him into a puppet Battler that they are trying to eventually make into the real one.
