It's actually more plausible that Natsuhi dyed her hair. Dyeing isn't 100% even, so once her hair grew out, she'd have a natural gradient going from lighter brown to darker brown.

Human Beatrice was alive on the island 19 years ago (Beatrice confirmed on the island in 1967 in red) and she died at some unclear time, illustrated by Rosa's flashback, and Rosa has to be incorrect about the date because of the red. There are also suggestions that a Beatrice was raped at some point. So I guess for this to work Beatrice had a baby on or around Fall 1967, died, Natsuhi killed the baby and then the Battler switch happened in 1968. This way 07.15/11.29 don't have to refer to the same year.
