Clumsy Moe, you were absolutely awesome on the 4th. Listening to the recording of it over again today I thought I'd share what I thought were the highlights and/or some constructive criticism.


The good:

+ beginning of the mix starts out slow and laid back, as opposed to some overblown self-aggrandizing musical slap in the face where you shout "DJ CLUMSY MOEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE!" or something. Spot on.

+ Starting at around 13:00, especially into the part at 15:25- mmmm, delicious bassline.

+ the part beginning at 37:30 sounded NASTY. (did I hear some shades of Daft punk's robot rock at 38:20?) I wish it had lasted longer, it was very dance-regardless-of-your-current-location inducing.

+ The Miku at ~1:37:00 was silly, and I liked it a lot. I dunno why but her "Eee-he-he-hehehehehehe-hehehe" made me laugh out loud.

+ in at 1:48:08: The melody sounds a little bittersweet (to me at least), but yet the mix remains really upbeat- I liked that.

+ Portal sounds always make things better.

Cons:

- The fade at 39:45 or so sounded a little rocky going from something so super funky to something more melodic. I dunno how to have made it sound less jarring, so I guess take that with a grain of salt.

-the chiptunes noises before Marisa stole the precious thing at 59:40 or so were a little grating, same thing with the klaxon sound at around 1:19:00. Chiptunes are tough because a small nudge in one direction or another can turn them from sounding positively great to ear-rape.

I've no problem with what you just said. Unfortunately, it's requested so much that there's not even an hour gap between each time it plays. If we didn't want you guys requesting songs multiple times for people to listen to, then we wouldn't have the songs saved in a request list for future use.

It's just a problem of being played way too much. Even if you don't listen to the stream all day, you'd bump into that song way too often.

We have thousands of songs to pick from. Nobody wants to hear the same song every half an hour. I'm sure there are other good songs you want to share with us as well on the list.

Sorry to say, this didn't come out as nicely as you planned. You should try picking similar songs, fade them into each other, and find a nice spot to move onto the next song rather than coming to an abrupt stop at a random point of the song, pause, and then play the next.

When you said you had a medley created for us, I was thinking you actually mixed songs with each other. I'll be skipping to the next track in a bit. If you want to hear these songs, you can easily request them individually in the song database. As of right now, there's nothing that makes this track stand out from the originals. I said in a previous thread that tracks lined up one after the other may be nice to listen to, but are pointless if they're already in the database.

As said before, Audacity is a nice free program that can help you with this kind of thing. I don't really edit music myself, so I can't give many tips on how to actually make stuff though, but I know something as simple as mixing tracks is something that Audacity can do pretty well. Also work on what songs your transitioning into.
