Yoshimasa Hiraike(who's directing and writing this) makes solid slice of life, so I kinda had high hopes for that.
One of the writers is good too(Touko Machida), the other seems to be shitty - the series he wrote that I tried to watch were rather bad.
But with that I had some hopes for good slice of life series with some romance. Would be a shame if it were shitty. Guess I'll have to see for myself, got a lot left over from last season though.

The anime adaption will destroy Amagami in the western community forever.

Adaptions from one media to another are as a rule always worse. The media itself isn't that important, it's just how there is a given qualitty loss present in the adaption work.
And now the anime will get a huge fanbase through all the anime communities, and those communities are far bigger.
In short, the anime adaption's fanbase will spread, and that fanbase will only know of the adaption and the adaption will grow to become the "default", and everyone will always compare the original game to the adaption and not the other way around, also a huge chunk of that fanbase will not even know of the game.
It will suck most likely.

Remember when they actually aired original anime shows, and not adaptions of books/manga/games/VNs?
Sure they still air some original shows, but it's nothing like it used to be.
I guess it's simply not profitable for them to bet on a new "wildcard" of sorts without a fanbase, instead of leeching on an already established name/fanbase.
