Disgaea is awesome, hands down

I only played Disgaea 2, but I thought the gameplay was enjoyable, I didn't care much for the lolis in the game at all actually, but I liked Rozalin.

However, I never got to the "grindan" part of the game: I played it nearly to the end (of the standard missions) and then just lost interest. It was fun for a while, but all the fights in the item world got boring.

As far as I know, the only characters anybody ever likes from Disgaea 2 are Rozalin and Taro.

I didn't grind once to complete the story OP.

My current Disgaea 2 playfile has 853 hours on it, and I just got done maxing out my 3rd chara. That playtime doesn't even include the ridiculous amount of time that I spent resetting in the item world to max out gear.

I got sick of doing that after I got my first Yoshi to Lvl200.
It's ~25-50h per piece depending on your luck... Yeah,.. No way I'm doing this for all the gear of more than just one chara.

I'm a little miffed that they changed the conditions for catching monsters. The old way made it so that monsters were much, much better than humanoids because not only was catching faster, it allowed you to catch progressively stronger monsters--even level 9999 Land of Carnage Dreadnoughts.

Oh yeah, and I really liked monsters. Humanoids are so generic.

Disgaea is not a good strategy game. All challenge can be mitigated by grinding.
