WIZ's current strength is in firepower (Artillery, Air), its weakness is lack of melees. Here's tips for current games especially Union Wars:

LND: Protect your fellow Artillery. Never rush in except when you're sure you can score clean hits. Never go alone; group with AIR allies and strike enemies from flank or side, or help defend the frontline. Running away to fight another day makes a winner.

ART: Bazookas, missiles, and shiny Toyboxes and Sturbangers are fine as long as you stay behind and provide support, instead of rushing in to frontline and die in just seconds. Press TAB and coordinate your movement occasionally. When Jikun or stray melee is messing with your flank, disperse and gangbang; don't just stand under Power Spot. Stay alive.

Smaller Artillery units such as Lily Rain should stay mobile, spare your ammo and don't attack LNDs; instead you should pay attention to map, and chase and target AIR units only.

SUP: Prioritize on Repair Bits; keep your WB gauge full until someone requested for medic. Stay careful and useful.

General: Keep ammo refill for Artillery, wonder drug for Support's repair bits, and Parts repair in case anyone requested. Reserve wind and fire pillar to assault enemy's power point or to stay alive.

Our tactic is in defense. Attack together and when the situation is clear. Stay alive.

If this game was anywhere as moe as the OP pic I might have played it for more than two days.

Regarding item use, if you're a small mech, getting a burn or shell drain trap and dropping it on the enemy Power Spot is awesome. If you don't mind the points, giving the traps and fire pillars to melees is a good idea, since they naturally like to hang around enemy powerspots.

That's basically what you do with S Air. Either stay near your own Power Spot to defend or sneak near the other team's Power Spot and do hit and runs. Actually, if you have that special Crimrose with the spear from the Garapon, it's pretty easy to keep a L Art disabled.

Did the rest of /jp/ realize there was a recruitment program? 20k for both and you can get 3 people. If you are recruited yourself, that's 80k without doing anything. If it's the same for the real game, it's quite tempting.

Auto Beam Rifle from Garapon #3 has extreme range so you can shoot and harass anyone standing still pretty easily without fear of getting hit with bazookas and most missiles. You can also stick 2 Garula AM arms on her, since they have even longer range than most rifles, but you run out of ammo fast and it looks uncute uguu.

Is there a better way to grind UC than just playing arena for an hour with a 2xUC ticket? I get anywhere from 5k-10k an hour (10k is on weekends with weekend UC bonuc).

So, I've obtained every robot and weapon in the Garapon and shop. Are there any items that are exclusive as quest/mission/arena awards?

What this guy said. There's another event tomorrow at 7pm pacific time. Of course this only applies while open beta is still going.

So far I've gotten (and spent) about 1 million UC from only two of the events.

Heres my advice. Take an Aquila, and give it dual blasters, and maybe two pacifier arms or something else with a weapon on it if you can swing it. Maybe even a leg joint weapon like the folded rifle.

Enter the quest area and immediately try to get to area 3 right off the bat. This will limit the time you can be in there, but it means dealing with less players. That means less competition and less lag.

Fly around until some trees spawn, and go to either the start or the end of the line, get up close enough that all your guns hit a bunch of trees, and make sure to aim a bit inward from the end of the line. This is because people tend to flock to the ends because they hope they can get a tree to themself.

Believe it or not, I managed to outpace people with some pretty heavy firepower. Just make sure you get the first hits in, and you're pretty much guaranteed to get the UC boxes. In fact, other people's attacks will only serve to help you get your money faster so you can move onto the next tree.

Oh, and always have a couple backup bots with a loadout you think would work on the trees. You might think those enemies in the early areas are powerless, but with that much lag, you can actually get killed by even the weakest enemy without realizing it.

My final bit of advice is to not get greedy. As soon as you get into the room, get a blue key. Make that your priority. Give yourself at least 2 minutes, maybe 3 to get out. You never know when the GMs are going to fill the map with trees, or when you'll get frozen for a full minute. You don't want to make a million UC, only to lose it at the last second.

Fuck you, all that tree event did was cost me UC... used 3x UC item, then get locked out of quest area due to too many players. Waste half an hour trying to get in, give up and start spending some of the 180k UC I got from wednesday's tree event (last time I even logged on to CB). Finally got a Winberrl from garapon at least, but still no LazFlamme RUSH (got 4 shitty LOUDs instead) or paralyze gun.

Then I get my ass kicked in arena for a bit, then sit around deciding which of the many bots I now have I should actually bother grinding xp on, and then play around customizing now that I have tons of spare parts lying around. Next thing I know hours have gone by and I'm going to bed.

Goddamn so much time wasted doing basically nothing, and over a game that's going to be wiped before long anyway

UC event is shit. If you can even get in, you have to fight lag and other players for trees. You're shit out of luck if you can't do enough dps.

Even if I could get in, all the players knock me down to 20 fps for no goddamn reason. Fuck I hate this game.

I was at about 2fps whenever they spawned trees and I still managed to make close to a million. Not that it makes it any less bullshit.

Lets not even get into the fact that the event itself kinda spoils the game. I now own pretty much everything you can just flat out buy or roll the garapon for. But then again, I suppose utterly destroying the economy and trying to crash the game with these laggy events is kinda part of what beta tests are for. I seem to recall them saying they won't be doing events quite like this one in the actual version.

What's a good hit-and-run type mech? I love flying around and strafing enemies with my Crimrose, as well as doing lightspeed drive-bys with my Jikun.

(I really wish there were missiles I could mount to my Crim that I can use while flying. The fire rod is pretty close, but i hate how it makes me stop when i use it.)

Is that Shino Exroad a good choice for an on-the-move attacker?

Stupid garapon, I've rolled #1 a zillion times and still no paralyzer, only weapon I haven't gotten from it. Finally got a LazFlamme RUSH at least so I quit on #1 unless I get a ton more cash.

Rolled #2 and #3 a few times and after getting a Shaden I was wondering.... which would be better for killing trees, a Shaden with Omega blaster + twin blaster (just need a couple capacity upgrades and replacing its booster with a cheap one), or an Aquila with two blasters and twice-upgraded core blaster? Yeah I could just test it but I have to level the Shaden and buy the blasters first.

actually as soon as I posted this I was able to get in... however I then had my Aquila get destroyed because I landed on top of the cactus trees they spawned and got stuck. Area 1 just had everyone sitting around camping the key mobs and nothing happening anyway so I just quit the quest.

Goddamn I wish I had never heard of CB, I've wasted so much time doing absolutely nothing ever since I downloaded it. Not just time wasted on shitty events and watching garapon rolls, but I keep finding myself spending hours on /jp/ instead of even playing it. I think it must be the knowledge that everything will be wiped soon, I subconsciously don't want to bother playing even when I think I do.

All we do is play Shuffle though. The nation wars don't interest me even slightly, they're only there for serious players and we all just want to take it easy.

shuffle is usually a whole lot more balanced. Instead of going into an x vs y where one side is just always better the shuffle balances out most of the time. There will be those matches where the other side got all the horrible players but generally it works out better.

Even though I mostly play Union vs. Union, it's clear as day that it's impossible for either DOS or BRD to win simply because WIZ outnumbers them. You've got WIZ (probably--all Union matches seem to go in phases) going even against the other two groups in Union Battle, with the excess WIZ getting guaranteed buckets of points from Shuffle matches.

It doesn't matter either way (not in the least because the prizes are garbage at this juncture), but it's pretty obvious how flawed the Union System is right now. So I end up just playing Union Matches anyway (since there's usually room for 1 more) and chuckling at the guys who whine that our team sucks so bad.

I'd expect everyone who does any arena to already know this but if you wait for a match to end people usually get kicked for having a bad score or just leave. Which is your time to join. You can observe the match then leave before it ends to get a spot.

It all depends on the time you are playing. Many of us live in different countries and our timezones don't match.

There are good players on WIZ, DOS and BRD. If you are owning a faction so hard without much trouble you are probably playing in a room without good players of that faction. I play WIZ and I usually own BRD but have trouble with DOS, one day I was playing in a different time and was owning DOS while being raped by BRD.

If you see a room with many people from a single clan you should be aware that you might have some trouble, although that can't possibly mean that they will win.

Shuffle has good and bad players o all factions and you have to pray to be in the team with less retards.

What I can conclude is that:
BRD is the faction with less skilled players but they do have good players.
DOS don't have as many good players as WIZ but they can do amazing team work sometimes.
WIZ has the most good players AND the most bad players since they have most players of all 3 factions, you can be lucky and face the shitty ones or face the skilled ones.

That's just my point of view though.

Sound balls are my primary source of damage, followed by blast bazooka.

With upgrades, the sound balls have really long range. The way they work is like this: Press right-click repeatedly to load up all the sound balls. When you have acquired a target, press right-click again to release the sound balls. The sound balls will home in on the target for good damage. However, they're pretty easy to dodge, so I would recommend getting sniper sight so your target does not anticipate the incoming salvo. Sometimes targets dodge them by accident because they're running around like a mad man.

All my other weapons are secondaries and only used to punish opponents who've gotten too close to me. Usually that's AIR, so that's why blast bazooka is awesome as a secondary.

My advice for Maril: Don't play her like a toybox. She's not a Large bot. She's a Medium bot, so you should play her like one. That means, move a lot, even when you're loading up sound balls. Oh, and look at your radar A LOT. Get Broad Radar. If you get caught by surprise, you're gonna get killed most of the time.

Also, don't play Maril if your team is constantly being overrun. Maril needs well-defined lines to play her well. Otherwise use a small bot because Maril is not quick enough to get away from those gangrapes.

Hmmm I might try using my Maril again, I only used her briefly and got my ass totally kicked by everything. Is her shockwave arm even worth using or should I just swap it out of something else? I've been maining Crimrose the entire time but I'm starting to get tired of not being able to do much other than run away and survive... I get owned by better equipped Air (and frequently get chased down and killed because they're faster, preventing me from doing hit-and-runs on their rear), blown out of the sky by arty in the center of the map, and can't hit laggy Lnd rushing our power spot. I'm never going to manage to grind her to lvl 10 before the wipe either. I started switching Lily to my first spot more often (mainly when I get Crimrose-unfriendly maps) and find myself scoring way better just bazooka spamming.

Right now trying to figure out how to use my Winberrl Ellen that's in my 3rd slot. My problem is that weapon switching is awkward, and I don't want to be alpha striking with the drawguns all the time. Though I suppose since I have the drawguns I should be using melee weapons instead of guns? Since her thorns core ability is a barrier instead of an offensive move it wouldn't be as much of a problem to switch subweapons when needed, compared to switching main weapon in the middle of shooting.

The stardust cannon is only worth using on maps with high ceilings to take advantage of it's range. The best example is probably Relic Towers. In maps without them the projectile is too slow to hit with unless you're acting like a moron or are standing right in front the person with the stardust. Stardust cannon is on par with most other L AIR weapons, it's just the easiest to use and so you see it the most.
