I wish more games were like Daioujou. It had the right balance of little girls and space planes. More character than R-Type or Dodonpachi, but nothing ridiculous like Otomedius or Daifukkatsu. Need more games like that.

They don't really make that much sense. Why would a robot want to build a giant robot version of itself as a weapon? You wouldn't really expect a computer to be so proud of itself that it'd want to make tools in its image, would you? Kinda weird.
But putting that aside, who cares if they make sense if they're annoying as hell? The stage 3 and 4 bosses really need to just shut the fuck up. That's the real issue here.

Think about it, an escalating von Neumann machine that makes a bigger version of itself, which makes a bigger version of itself, which makes a bigger version of itself, ad infinitum until the known universe is just an unimaginably gigantic robot.

Now imagine the initial robot being a girl. Turning the entire universe into the little girl, now that would be cool.
