Greetings, /jp/, first-timer here. Hopefully I'm in the right board.

Is there any site that keeps track of new/upcoming Japanese music releases (both major and independent)? I had no idea Tokyo Jihen had a new album this year and it made me realize I don't keep up with music these days.

I'm looking for something similar to leaksallday.com but obviously not on the leak aspect. I check Metacritic as well, but they're a little more worldwide (and Tokyo Jihen hasn't shown up on their music section).

I've asked /mu/ but I've had the obligatory weeaboo reply

If it isn't on vgmdb.com then you're going to have to ask /mu/.

Never give up.

Despite appearances, /jp/ ain't about Japanese culture, music or country itself. We hate it as much as we can. The only thing Japanese-related is idol threads.

Wow, a well crafted post by a first-timer? How is this possible?

Well, I don't really hate it; I'm just a pervert.

AMG gave it 3.5 stars, not too hot.

This was a pretty legitimate question, music can be considered Otaku Culture related. And eitherway it wasn't some stupid derp how do i learn Japanese/bang Japanese chicks bullshit, take it easy.

You're probably right.

I agree 100%. Sadly, I don't know anything about Japanese music so I have no reason to age the thread. I wish I could help.

I never follow critic ratings/reviews. This site will do for now though, thanks.

AMG is amazing, simply stated.

>> No.5405701

It has to be Otaku Culture. Not all Japanese music is otaku culture.

>>5405701

I hate to do this, but could you define 'otaku culture' for me?
Good luck coming up with an acceptable answer.

/jp/ is for memes that an Japanese otaku would be interested in as opposed to memes a Japanese otaku would not be interested in in comparison to the rest of the population. What was so hard about that?

Good luck understanding that

It means you should be able to show how your thread relates to otaku. If that's not simple enough, you're too fucking stupid to post on /jp/.

A Japanese firearm otaku, a Japanese car otaku, or a Japanese doll otaku?

We had a Japanese train thread once. Shit was pretty cash.

>> No.5406217

>>5406210

Yeah, that counts as well. Based on the true meaning of the word, the definition is very broad.

Actually, /jp/ does what /b/ failed to accomplish: house all the Japanese shit that don't have a board of their own or that other boards don't want.

Damn /b/ circa 04/05 was fun.
