To be honest, I didn't like that theme that much. To be more precise, it was nice, but it lacked something. It's in my opinion one of the weakest Key themes played during an emotional scene. But I probably set my standards too high with Clannad and LB, where half of the soundtrack makes me weep like a baby.

Even though that scene didn't make me cry, it really helped build up the emotion for the climax. I mean, goddamn, just when I expected her last words to be something about being able to cry, she had to start practicing her speech again. They're actually right when they say, that scene really forces you to cry.

The creator of Planetarian worked on other Key projects as a contributor, and eventually left to another company where he worked on a few other games, but Planetarian was the ONLY project he created and directed. He now writes goth loli novels.

Indeed. Yet you're argument has two flaws. Fist of all her name's Yumemi asshat. Don't give me that localized bullshit. And second of all, yes, she is shown, even ion official art, as a nopan. Yet thinking that she was still a robot, how can you know if she truly had anything to hide? I normally don't give two shits about that, yet when I played the game, I played it with voices of course. So whenever she was referred to as Yumemi by voice I read it as Reverie. Therefore frustrating.

Also, your second argument is pretty much invalid. Mannequins are also placed in department stores all day for people to see yet you don't see dicks on those do you? As I mentioned before, even if she looked and acted human, to the creating company she was no more than a robot.

I didn't like Planetarian.

The entire game, i'm hoping for the main character to end this sub-chapter of the game. I accept this annoying little robot as a part of some sort of elaborate introduction. Time goes on. Bored. The main character acts against his interest, wasting time trying to fix a strange machine that won't be of worth to his profession. He further does this by not capturing the robot and selling her / destroying her and taking her valuable parts.

The ending was upsetting. Worthless. When she died, I was thrilled. I thought "Yes! Now the main character will move on to a main city and reunite with plot-related characters, and the story will really start!"

-- the end.

At least it was short so I didn't waste too much time.
