cheap LCD:s are pretty bad - I recently switched from a cheap 24" benq LCD + a little less cheap iiyama 19" LCD first to a single 19" CRT and then to dual 19" CRT. the picture quality of these things is pretty amazing when compared to the LCD:s I had, plus I like how I can play old games and such in fullscreen without having to worry about native resolutions. touhou never looked better~
plus they're ridiculously cheap.
in the end its just about personal opinions though, but CRT:s are not really inferior to LCD:s.

I save the best of these pictures and use them as wallpapers. My own room is just shelves and shelves of manga, floor to ceiling, with some gashapon figurines on some of the shelves (many of the shelves have manga fore and aft and thus have no room for figures. Also, I've modified the shelves so that each is just the height of the manga, thus allowing more shelves per, er, shelf.

I have three shelves devoted to loli. ...I don't even like loli that much, but when I left Japan and returned to the US I knew I wouldn't be able to get it in Hawaii, so I stocked up. I need to get rid of it; if I had a heart attack, things would look bad (not to mention the DVDs of preteen girls prancing around in bathing suits; they're not my thing, but I had to check 'em out...and now I can't just throw them away because that would be a waste.)

Thus, my room is not interesting to look at (except for the five huge posters of Ayukawa Madoka, who is my waifu.

The picture I'm posting is my favorite otaku room so far. Gawd, I miss having a kotatsu. ...well I still have one, but fucked if I'm gonna use it for anything in fricking Hawaii.
