Not all of us have a talent for languages, or the time to learn Japanese. Furthermore, I notice that there are many people, some on this board, who can read VNs the day they come out in Japan but yet are too lazy to provide a service to the community.

Because it is. Even if it isn't to some, taking on a project as large as a visual novel is no small feat.

Understanding the language doesn't mean you can be a translator. Well, a good one anyway. I learned first hand, just because you can understand it doesn't mean you're cut out for translation(though I still do it since the community can't afford to be too picky with its current state anyway)
