Let's make a shmup!

You don't have to participate in the making, but I would like some feedback on what makes or breaks it. Or if you have any unique ideas that have never been done before please share.

It will be done in python (probably).

Don't make bombs like in Banshiryuu extra, where you start out with 70, and it takes some skill to survive long enough to use half of them because they only cancel certain things and don't make you invincible.

Syobon Action: Touhou edition, featuring:

- Resurrection Butterfly in reverse where bullets come up from bottom. Yuyuko's fan also swings down on you once in a while.
- Apollo 13 with Mystia's blindness effect.
- Border of Life and Death, except with exploding bullet rings from Subterranean Rose
- Subterranean Sun, but there are three gravity wells and they move around
- Seamless Ceiling of Kinkakuji fourth barrage and Scarlet Meister as 120 second timeout cards
- Killing Doll, except timestop doesn't stop the bullets

Everything you kill gives a certain amount of exp. While you're playing through the game you level up and such. At the end of each round you get to put skill points into skills and stuff like that.

Sort of how there is already a power up feature in Touhou games, but way more elaborate and RPG-like.

Nah, that's just plain hard. In order to fit the spirit of Syobon Action, it must be dickish, killing you when you least expect it.

I also had a stage of sorts planned, though I don't remember the details. I think it included the BGM text having a hitbox and homing at you, enemies that kill you back when you kill them, and those fucking ground towers from Twinbee, but I was too lazy to code.
