Uhhh, just keep playing people and building experience. Don't airtech all the time, use bullet cover when approaching, and don't use unsafe moves like Remilia's 22B so often.

After a while, start getting a feel for what your opponent will do. Don't always just think about what you're going to do or what combo you want to pull off, try to read what your opponent's gonna do, like is he gonna throw a projectile, or is he gonna graze in, or maybe he'll toss out an early aerial melee to try to win a midair exchange. Really, it's just a matter of playing a lot of people and thinking.

I guess so. In all honesty Hisoutensoku feels like a game of gimmicks from beginner to average level. When I started out I was mainly hit by moves and spellcards whose properties I knew nothing about (and there's still a lot I'm unfamiliar with, as playing against nameless yesterday demonstrated). In other words all it took to get better was general fighting experience, so there's not much advice to offer except against blatant transgressions like never blocking on wakeup.

Err, if you don't mind, just a couple things: 1.) don't airtech quite that often, you were eating a lot of punishment. 2.) Consistently flying towards me without any bullet cover can be a bad idea (for example, Youmu vs Suika).

Yeah, I very much noticed you had the timings on air tech punishment down on most of those characters. I was testing the distancing to get a feel for when you were going for them with your Suika, as normally I don't see much of them without firecrackers backing them up. The issue I had with bullet cover was that your fastballs cleared them out at long distances. I fully hoped to close the distance to where you would airblock so I could try out some strategies against the jumping.

As for your playstyle, it really does feel like I'm playing bass fishing. Your Reisen was pretty fun since she had smothering strings and constantly slung me around, but just chasing and dodging fireball kicks and fastballs until someone makes a mistake gets frustrating, even if the timing and reading opponents for that is incredible.

Soku is pretty much fishing and reading, though. Even in Reisen's case it comes down to fishing stuff like 66A and getting you to block certain projectiles to set up opportunities for damage (for example, default 236).

There are still different playstyles. Some people zone more, while others just keep running straight up to your face. I have to agree with Rabbit-Box that your playstyle has always been more frustrating to face than say, guys like Magister (even though I have no hope of winning against him).
