Such translation should be really easy and fast if you translate the English version.

And I bet they'll be done before WH anyway.

I read recently that Italians and French, unlike some other Europeans, are pretty stubborn about learning English, so it makes sense.

I mailed the WH a while ago and asked if they would be interested in a French translation, using the English one of course. They never answered.

You can read translation thread at animesuki, those questions were asked many times. You need onscripter tools to extract the script file from nscript.dat in your umineko(or wh patch) folder, translate, then use other tool to pack it again.

Koreans/Chinese translate from Japanese, so it should be alright, unlike the ones translated from English.

Translating translated VNs to a third language is a stupid idea. No wonder some groups won't let you to touch their scripts.

Bullshit. That excuse might be worth something if you compare Romance fags with Dutchies and Germans, but what about those Finns? Their language is about as far from English as Japanese, yet their English is fucking awesome, save for the accent. No natural language is inherently hard, the only thing that can make it hard to learn is your attitude to it.

I know plenty of people who excel at a third language but suck really hard at English. People in wealthy countries don't need English in their daily lives unless they're nerds or internationally active business people, so it's all about cultural affinity.

The problem is that most of these translators lack the skills. There are similar VN translation projects in my country, but the translators can't even fucking spell correctly and are /a/ style retards.

I've read on German Wikipedia that the commercial German dub of Evangelion was a translation of the English version. People who speak decent Japanese must be REALLY rare in Deutschland...

Not harder. It just takes longer. The German guy already knows like 10%-20% of important English words when he starts out, the Finn has to learn them first. Takes 3 months in serious self-study, or 4 years in school.
