Let us discuss spell cards broadly!

This spellcard made me feel stupid. I did not know more bullets would arrive with more shots. I kept on trying though, and since I was so silly, I did not go around in a circle and tried to graze through the center of the bullet holes, like the picture, because the danmaku becomes too large to graze in a circle. I actually did very OK with this, until I found out how her shot is reacting. I am still very bad in the Shoot the Bullet games! I am being so lazy, but I will definitely beat it, because they are the most fun to win.

Parsee Mizuhashi has my favourite spell cards because the names have very strong bonds to her theme. They have very strong bonds with folklore and are beautiful because of stories behind the names. But they are easy in comparison to others. ZUN's love shows because of stories in cards too!

This card really gave me a lot more trouble than it should have. After beating it, I've tried several times to try to spin around her to see how far I could get, but I've only gotten about 2-3 shots at most, I can't remember.

Now that we're talking about spellcards, I'd like to say that this spellcard, Suwako's "Suwa War - Native Myth vs Central Myth", is my favorite spellcard. It's a fair and pretty easy spellcard compared to the rest of Suwako's arsenal and is enjoyable to attempt. It starts off as a silence before the storm and eventually becomes are hectic mess of frogs and snakes.

For a stage 2 spell card on Lunatic, this must be the hardest to date.
I mean, as if the pink bullets weren't enough, you have the umbrellas(?) coming from your left and right ramming you, and if you do destroy them you have to dodge the spawning white bullets too. All while dodging through said pink bullets.
It's pure bullshit; even Murasa's spell cards are easier!
I have only cleared it once with Sanae B, and I can't understand how it would be possible with any other character unless you shotgun Kogasa.

Patchouli has the best spellcard names in my eyes.

Since most of the names were in katakana, there isn't really any creativity on the translator's part to make it sound awesome or anything. Patchouli's cards are directly from ZUN, and they use incredibly snazzy words and references that you would not expect from a drunk Japanese man. The single-element cards were already quite cool in name, but it gets even better when she starts combining two elements. And ending it with all the elements and the Philosopher's Stone? ZUN, you've got to be kidding me man, that is too fucking awesome.

This is how I beat it the first time, before I saw other people beat it by taking a picture when it explodes and charging for another one before the left over bits get too hectic. The tap through the explosion is definitely better for scoring, though.

That's how I felt at first too. There's no real trick to beating it, just because -like I mentioned- it almost solves itself. Because you'll be forced to take a picture to live, which makes an opening, Which you xploit, fifnd another opening to enter the circle, which allows you to charge, and then you're forced to take another picture to live, which makes another opening, and it just keeps going until you beat it, and you say, "How'd I do that?"

The great thing about this spellcard is that although it is pretty much the same every time, there are still a lot of different ways to clear it. I cleared it before looking for replays and was surprised to see that there are different was for clearing it.

Which DS spellcard did people find the hardest? Looking through my game I see that on 9-1, 10-8, 12-4, 12-7, and EX-5 I took over 300 photos each for my first clear with 12-4 and EX-5 each over 400.

EX-5 I found bitchy because unless you took out the four circles closest to her those lasers would trap you like nothing else. 12-4 simply took me so long because of its last two shots.

You have about 60 more spaces if you rename your replays like th95_udXXXX, the Xs being any four characters. You can keep more than that in your replay folder, but it just stops showing them in-game past the 60th plus the 20 that go with the regular name scheme. So you can have a total of 80 replays accessible on your replay page at one time in game. Though there's 85 scenes total in StB though so you can never have a single replay of every stage in there at one time.

This card does feel nice. I also felt like I've improved immensely when I played it again. I remember those last two shots being much harder than they are for some reason, but as of now they feel really simple. Was even able to time my shots to shoot when Komachi shot.

I also noticed Komachi stays in a single pose until you take two pictures of her.

I tried to make heads or tails of it. It looks like a bunch of random shit, most of her spellcards are a depiction of incredible feats or unsettling and disturbing occurrences. Supernatural phenomena seems like an okay way to describe all of it, but I'm not exactly sure how it's something you can freely manipulate. I guess small stuff like "Shackles a Criminal Can't Take Off" makes sense, but...

The ideal way to do this scene for this scene is wait until Meiling gets near the top or bottom and then take a shot to get rid of her kick bullets, wait for her to kick once more at you while still at the bottom of the screen then dash to the top or bottom of screen and charge. She gets too fast for this after photo three, but it's still possible if you misdirect two kicks before moving to the top or bottom of the screen to charge, ideally one pointing to the right side of the screen then one pointing to the left side.

However by the last photo she gets too fast for any charging so you need to just keep moving and wait for your camera to charge naturally for the last one. Using the method I outlined above it is possible to do the first five photos with minimal dodging. The last one is still going to be tough though.

Nue is just so screwy that I always lose a life in some bullshit manner and then the power loss, which is especially important in Nue's UFO cards, makes me lose too many lives to survive Heiankyo Nightmare effectively. Not to mention how much perfection the stage demands of you. This single extra is making me enjoy the very concept of shmups less.

Not to mention having one of my all-time favorite stage themes

Still screws me up a lot even after having seen Imperishable Shooting, but you generally need to go to a corner and stream the triple red waves widely, but not too quickly. You sometimes need to move up, and the part with the dense bullets as well is hard... Luckily she has one of the easier survival spells, though I sometimes screw up the streaming bit. I'm glad the speed you can stream at is more or less in the beat of the music.
