I've got my problems with MoF too. I couldn't 1cc it (on normal) with MarisaB. Now that I've 1cc'd IN and PCB at least once, I'm going to do MoF next. I've got problems with some of Aya's cards, and Kanako's Mountain of Faith card. Even on easy, Kanako's last card rapes the fuck out of me.

My advice: practice on normal, every day, at least an hour. Watch a replay or two. Incorporate the good techniques from the replay.

I've never found a good FAQ for anything except IN. There is a good series of videos on youtube that will help you 1cc IN with a bit of practice.

It's not like we can really teach anything else.

Imagine you're learning to play chess. We can't teach you a complex opening with 20 permutations and 10 traps to avoid, there's no way in hell you'd pull it off. So we teach the basics, positioning, attack opportunities etc.

Same for Touhou (and any other game for that matter)

Stop sucking. You can bomb the entire last half of MoF and win.

This is the one tip that most pros give. Always play one level ABOVE the one you usually play for a bit. It skyrockets your senses because the bosses will seem way easier.

That's a load of crap. If I bomb that much I can't kill bosses because I don't have enough power left. MoF is a lot more bomb heavy than the other games, but I still have to be conservative with them.

Hmm, I thought it was a bit easier on easy. Mostly because instead of walls of amulets, some of the groups had nice gaps. I'm scared to try and go through the walls of amulets on normal. Maybe that's why I fail so hard.

I don't think you are suppose to go through the walls of amulets. You go through the gaps and are suppose to have incredibly fast reaction and tell which traps are made in the patterns of incomming bullets. I'll tell you hwhat, that game took me quite a while to 1cc. I did it first with reimu, and almost kicked myself at how easy it was to kill bosses with unfocused marisa, because I used to always focus for more damage whenever I got the chance. Also, the glitch only seems to start on Aya, and the bosses after that.

You need to stop holding shift for focused movement. You only need to go between bullets in the same segment on hard, and even then, that's avoidable.

I have a MoF Reimu B 1cc that consists of me bombing all of Aya except one card, all of Sanae but one card, and all of Kanako but her first and last spellcards.

So yes you can

It took me 2 tries to 1cc MoF on normal, and it was my second 1cc. I was using Marisa B, yes, but I didn't know about the exploit, so I think it is valid.

Aya's crossroads spell and final spell are what kill me most in stage 4. I'm fine with most of Sanae, except the purple lasers spell. Kanako's first reaction-check spell gets me every time, so does the one with the pink almonds that shrink to rice, and Mountain of Faith, as stated above.

I usually bomb almost all of those. Don't try to dodge them if you have any bombs left.

That's exactly what my MoF Lunatic 1ccs are.

I think I only capture three cards or so. The rest I don't even need to bother.

On a side note, died at the last bullet of VoWG Lunatic, literally after capturing it, with ReimuA (that takes quite a bit. ) I've yet to get over this. I am frustrated.

But I did shitty the entire run and never got my third free life from points, so.

When people say bomb, they don't mean use it to survive. They mean use it aggressively to beat the shit out of bosses. Bomb as much as possible until you have zero power left (or equivalent) then die. You'll get 3 new bombs once you pick up the power ups and you can repeat this process till either you win or you die.

This is pretty much the same strategy I've used for every game since EosD.
