Had speaking of DSi and pirating, I got money and was thinking of getting these things, so all I need to buy is a DSi and a flashcard (Acekard 2i) to play any roms I want? What about imports?

With a DSi you might still need to tweak some things. I suggest getting a DS Lite instead.
And since there's no region lock for DS games, the only trouble you might have is with the oms that have anti-piracy measures. Keeping your firmware updated (AKAIO, in the case of AK2i) usually helps in circumventing that.

Are you crazy? Ronin sucked in EO1 but they're pretty much top tier in EO2. Midareba blows away bosses like no other, especially paired with Hexer's Frailty.

Depends on the flashcard. I use an R4 from 4 years ago and some DSi-enhanced roms simply can't work on it. I assume the other, newer flashcards with good support like CycloDS don't have any problems.

Yeah, there are DSi compatible flash cards.

None of them are really capable of taking full advantage of the DSi's capabilities though.

It's alright but I much prefer the EO series.

The beginning is very rough in CoH and it's very easy to fuck over your characters.

It's just a very different kind of dungeon crawler. Quite enjoyable if you like making new equipment through alchemy (since good equipment is more important than exp levels in that game).

It's more Wizardry-like than EO, checking the map without the dual-screen is a pain, and menus (particularly the town menu) are a regular clusterfuck. That said, there are some nice features that streamline the game, like paying money to level up characters, and swapping character classes as a frequent and quite encouraged thing. CoH2 is already out in Japan and is a marked improvement from the original, with unique sprites for each class/race/gender/school combination, and an MP system instead of spells per day. Unfortunately, it's unlikely it will see a translation given the niche nature of dungeon crawler games on handhelds.

I'd say it were possible but it seems unlikely now that EO3 was announced for a localization.
