A friend is willing to sell me his Dreamcast for $10.

Are there any decent DC games that would appeal to a /jp/anon besides the shmups?

Don't mean to intrude on this thread, but can anyone tell me where I can find some sailors?

Sonic Adventure, Panzer Dragoon, Jet Grind Radio, Ape Escape off the top of my head...

There's nothing on Dreamcast that isn't on a shitton of systems already.

Haha, it's always the first post. I wonder how many times some /jp/anon refresh per minute.

Crazy Taxi was really fun; there were some VNs ported to DC too.

You can get a better deal than that.

Anything Touhou-like? Meaning cute girls doing cute things with arcade gameplay.

>> No.5264368

- Sakura Taisens
- Sentimental Graffiti 2
- Lots of enhanced eroge/VN ports like Baldr Force EXE.
- Skies of Arcadia and Grandia 2
- Tons of 2D fighting games.

I don't have a CD burner. I'm guessing the enhanced VN remakes wouldn't be available anywhere for sale, like eBay?

The Dreamcast has a lot of great games, a lot of great arcade style, fun games. It marked the end of a great era. Any self respecting gamer should own one.

N-no it doesn't...It's just a "cult classic" system because it died before its time and gamers feel elite for having one. Same with the Saturn.

PS2 has a lot of great games. Dreamcast was a mediocre system that didn't really excel anywhere and also forgot to integrate any sort of copy-protection, hence it's lifespan was deservedly short.

Ikaruga soul calibur and that other game I can't remember right now

It might be a little overrated, but it still has its share of must play games like the Gamecube and Saturn, even though they weren't the best.

Power Stone 1&2 if you have friends
Jet Grind Radio
the Gundam games were decent
Blue Stinger for cheese factor

Japan still puts out one or two Dreamcast titles yearly if you don't mind importing.

Oh wow, really? Like what? Just homebrew shooters and VN ports?

>> No.5265176

Almost all shooters.

Trigger Heart Exelica was the first thing that came to mind. It made the top 10 in Japan's monthly sales across all consoles a few years back. But it's available for 360 now.

DC was the system to have at the time because it had perfect ports of fighting games, shmups, online play, and other unique games ike Shenmue, JSR, etc. No other system had these things.

DC died because Sega of America sucked ass at doing business. They also had bad relations with publishers in Japan and big Western publishers like Electronic Arts. That's what SoA deserved for killing off the Saturn so early.

Anyways, the DC was already dead by the time the PS2 came out. Two different eras IMO.

Yeah, the Saturn was just starting to get popular and awesome in the US. But they killed that off early to make way for the DC.

Stupid Sega.
