Why the fuck would you let them join Shimazu?

First off, you need to kill Shimazu/Mouri/One Eye since they are the strongest.
Basically kill everybody except Takeda and three weak countries like Akashi, Hara and Asakura.
Then you destroy Takeda and let those 2 or 3 weak countries hire them.

I hate how by the time you get the Takeda generals you already beat the game

Same problem as you, except I wait till they join the ninja and texas, there is also the youkais, but I can't seem to capture the king wives so the last battle will be a pain.

You know who's the best ninja in this game? That kid. Whatever his name was. Damned kid comes with assassinate 2 and like, 7s in his stats.

I dunno why I'm rambling about that but still. I always try to get that kid.

I was down to 2 houses in my ran route killing generals every defense phase and it took me about 75 turns before the first one showed up. First was yoshikage for me, then yamagata..baba shouen took another 25-30 turns to show up.

Expect to wait awhile and make sure to turn on the enemy house messages and see who they hire.

Kiku comes with all 7 stats (if not more) plus assin2 shuriken2 plus 1k troops and 5 moves, and she can easily be cleared if you captured her fast. With 2k troops and 9 stats she one hit anyone in the 2nd row

Ignore this dumbass.

Kill Takeda and whoever you need to to get to them, and NO ONE ELSE. This increases the chance of the generals being hired, and also decreases the pool of free commanders to be hired from.

beat the blitz on turn 21 with this setup, got the last general on turn 46. that's on a 0-star playthrough though.

the process of getting him is the same as getting Masou Shizuka aka getting the special character bonus (same place where you get the special family bonus).

He's located after you conquer Hara house after the cherry blossom scene and before the first gourd breaks (unless you're in Kill the Monkey route). I believe the name of the event is "lightning in day" or something.

he has VERY weak defense and a small size troop, and no sat. point from him either. Only his 100% assassinate is sometimes useful in desperate defense fight. I still rather use Kiku in attack.

Shimazu isn't so bad once you kill/capture all their generals, which is what happened while I was trying to get the last Takeda for the bonus.

Before that, fighting Yamataga in Mouri was pure Hell. Yoshikage was a lot more manageable by comparison.

So yeah, you'd want to conquer 2 of those 3 early, I doubt any non-youkai can be recruited by One Eye though, so you can just battle permit them to death at the end, and the seiges are always 1500 and 3500 respectively.

Also, I like to conquer Hara early for Gekkou, and Akashi for Hibachi Kazemaru(I usually get him to all 6s before the bonus and he's needed to catch/H Nogiku)

Does anyone have a save I could use?

I beat it once, and then had to reformat, and I just got super pissed off on my latest game, because I attacked Mouri while Akashi and Tenshi was attacking me, and ended up blitzin the last stronghold before I got whatshernames last event, then accidentally cleared my save list.

So I'm stuck without the character I really wanted, never got a challenge due to having to push fast due to constant attacks by Tenshi and Akashi, and just bleh overall, I just want to do Kill the Monkey.

I always get him as part of the great treasures bonus, though I always hate letting the left side of the map take back a country for the coke bottle. 101/201 doggies is useless on higher difficulties though, so it's fine to kick him afterwards.

Good preparation for the fight is getting Rance to 8s or higher by using books, elite troops at 6s, and book 2s in that order, as well as the Satomi Empire and S&M dungeons for quick levels(and brutal dungeoning on higher difficulties, so good luck). At 9s I've done it in the late 40s, 8s or lower and you're looking to need low to mid 50s. And don't forget to get an extra action point or 2 and Rance Attack, those doggies block the whole front row so you'll only have a move or 2 to beat him with.

If you're not interested, there's also an action that lets Gekkou tear off his limbs and make him run away crying like the man-bitch he is. I forget if it lets you auto-conquer Iga though.

Don't mind me, just being the guy who can single handedly defend any territory.
