Plenty of primaries would want to play all the games, while many secondaries care only about the most popular characters.

That's always happened. China goes from non-spellcard pattern to another non-spellcard pattern, but the idea of specialized attacks that follow a specific pattern that have names relating to that pattern don't exist. Rumia has the distinct recognition of being the first Touhou to use a spellcard.

Primaries enjoy the games and actually care for the 'plot'/canon, but they can also appreciate fanon works, etc, nothing wrong with that.

Secondaries usually tend to only play fightan games at the very best and love fanon works / retarded memes, don't recognize and don't give a shit for canon. Usually don't ever read official works and only cares mostly for the fan community.

The primary concern of a secondary fan is the secondary work...the doujin, fan animations, remixes, etc. A secondary can transition to a primary, but it's really rare. I was a secondary for a couple months before deciding that I wanted to try out the games, and even though I'm godawful at them, I spend more time playing them than I do concerning myself with secondary works.

Primaries embrace everything but acknowledge the games. Secondaries tend to not know that games exist or think they're not worth playing because ZOMG CUTE CHARACTERS R BETAR
