Even if you're old, ugly, like to use ridiculous clothes and stange hats, and your smile makes everyone run, you still can be famous.
You just need to create a game with some random plot and use more than 25 characters. If the first game doesn't have this much chars, just make a second, a third, a fourth one. It doesn't matter if you gave a try and ended up thinking that the game is ridiculous and have just 5/6 stages, or if you haven't even thought about a decent end and just added a villain with a sad past that is supported by governament, here on /jp/ you will be a hero.

It has been shown time and time again that you don't need a good story to have a successful franchise. Just make a large cast of likable characters. Or in Touhou's case, a bunch of appealing character designs.
