sadly, I can't say EoSD is a better game than IN, because it's not. Maybe if it were made after IN.

but, I like the EoSD cast a lot more than the IN cast, and the music of both games are awesome. IN is obviously easier though.

Anyway, in my heart will always be a place for both.

Some 3 years ago when I first discovered Embodiment of Scarlet Devil I said to myself "This is it, it doesn't get any better than this." That referring to the overall story, gameplay and immersion factor of the game. And guess what? It didn't get better, for me that is. I personally believe that no game in the series has truly ever rivaled EoSD in any category for any gaming factor.

Perhaps my strong perception of this game stems from a nostalgic feeling to be 12 again, dying to get home from school to play EoSD. The very first time I played stage 6 would become a sacred and cherished experience for me several years down the road. There are just some moments in life that can only be had once, and for me EoSD has taken up some of those one time moment slots.

I don't agree with this but I agree with you about IN. That game was an embarrasment.

I'll concede that IN has some of the most fap worthy girls though:
Tewi, Reisen, and Eirin > Yukari, Ran, and Chen >= Remilia, Flandre, Sakuya, etc

the only thing IN has is that it's pretty and has good music
take those two things from it and nobody would like it

If you want to say touhou is memorization, then all games are memorization. Alot of the spellcards change up slightly, or differ upon where you are, like how AIs react in other games. On games in which people say "OMGTHISISSOHARD", they have to REMEMBER what to do and what not to do right?
