I play Raiden Fighters. I don't really think I like it, though. Every boss has some bullshit pattern that basically bottlenecks the entire game into getting through or bombing it, the bullets blend in with the background, and the hitbox is huge.

It's still not a bad game, but I'd take a good Cave shooter over it anyday.

I'd be the first to admit that some shoot types can make ZUN games a piece of cake, but those beams are nothing like anything you can find in Touhou. Nice assumption there, based on nothing whatsoever, but unfortunately wrong. I've played every single Raiden and I have both the Fighters Aces collection and IV on my J360. Comparing it directly to touhou is kind of pointless as they are in different sub-genre, but it's certainly one of the last examples I would've used.

And the "you got medals in my medals" mechanic in 3 (?) almost makes touhou score systems look good.
