Whats the point of liking a character if you're going to change the character drastically anyway? Canon yuka isn't a violent killer neither is she misunderstood. She's just REALLY REALLY powerful and doesn't do much shit until you provoke her into ripping your throat out. According to canon she's laid back and teases you by holding back in a fight. Not enough for you to do anything to her but just enough that you think you're winning before she crushes you.

From what I remember in PoFV she don't seem to be what you mentioned. What I see is a Youkai who knows almost exactly what's going on and is teasing those who pass through her flower field. I don't see anything MERCILESS AND BRUTAL on that.
