Why japs don't make VN's based on joung workers instead of canon high-school students? As a worker, I don't feel identified with the characters anymore. Also, I haven't seen too many characters that do something specifically, all they do is eat books and hang out with weird japanese moe lolis with strange powers.

It's quite boring.

>> No.5102099

You're wanting two things.

You want the main characters to be more generic.

You want the stories to be less generic.

What?

No, I'm expecting them to make something that's out of the canon plot. I mean, students with weird storylines is fun, but overused. I'd like to see something different.

What about young teachers?

>> No.5102151

>>5102131
It would be the same. Something out of school. It's not very original to make a plot about an student hanging out with other student lolis. "Oh wow, somehow I ended in a weird high school and my class is full of weird lolis waiting for me to hang out with them while having an adventure. Fuck yeah!"

Because hags.

No one likes hags.

Only schoolboys and lolis acceptable.

>> No.5102166

I'd rather see more period pieces. Okay, I know you can only mine the Sengoku period so much, but there are other countries and other historical ages to look for.

Seriously, more Victorian stuff.

>> No.5102171

They don't need to hang out with hags, there are a lot of young women in the streets.

And Arcueid is NOT an old woman, she's a vampire. Vampires can't be young nor old, they exist or not.

>> No.5102187

>>5102159
hey, arc isn't a hag.
She's just a shitty character.

>> No.5102189

I agree with you op, but we have to bear with all the school life shit and school life setting. The japanese otakus like those stuff more than stories about "adult" life.

>> No.5102194

Because High School days are considered (even if they are not) the halcyonic days of our youth.

>> No.5102202

I would definitely like to see more VN's set outside of school. It was okay at first but I really would like a character I can more easily relate to. The school setting itself is also tedious but I wouldn't mind a game being based on a school trip like Aoishiro.

Personally, I want more wild west VNs.

>> No.5102234

>>5102225
You guys will probably end up complaining that it's not an accurate depiction anyway...

>> No.5102241

There are a lots of VNs that don't take place in a school, you just have to know where to look.

>> No.5102249

Not even western wild west shit is an accurate depiction.

>> No.5102251

I don't know, maybe I am becoming more like a normalfag, or maybe I grown up?

>> No.5102255

Because the people that play VNs want teenage bitches/loli's in their games so it would be inappropriate if the main character was an old guy hanging around the school.

Air.

1) Not all workers are old. In my country you can start working at 16. That's not even an adult.

2) The same applies for girls, even if it's more rare. I think that could be an appealing at the time of making a VN about it.

3)As how you talk, I guess you're a teenager.

There's plenty of eroge that don't feature student protagonists.

Some of the more interesting examples include: taxi driver/ex-mafioso, body guard, magician, ninja clan manager, castaway, cyberpunk mercenary, demon king, and a fucking dragon.

Pretty sure the fact that it's on an alien planet is a good enough explanation for it.

Gekkou no Carnevale, Akatsuki no Goei, Romanesque(plus a bunch of others), Shinobi Ryuu, Nangoku Dominion(there's sci-fi one too, but I can't remember the name), Baldr Sky, Meishoku no Reiki(plus Himegari and there's probably some other ones too), and Suzukuri Dragon.

I don't think any of these are translated, but I could be wrong.
