I too live in Southern California.

I used to go there all the time when I was little and it was still called Yohan's or something. They had like an anime store in the back where I would buy DBZ figures. I saw my first 2D nipple in that store.

Yaohan? I used to go all the time too. My routine is; eat at foodcourt/buy some kashipan at the bakery, buy manga in sanseido, buy groceries, buy some more bread for home, then home.

I used to go there too... like, 15 years ago with my mom, don't remember the exact age. I always got her to buy me the sweets that comes with little toys. I think my brother was somehow having piano lessons there in the back, don't ask me how. The bakery was delicious. ;_;

The only things I made sure to buy were those chocolate Koalas and a couple boxes these.

Ah, yeah. My favorites were Koala no march and Kinoko no yama.

About two years ago or so this place's in-store restaurant was where me and a friend would always go for lunch when we'd hang out. I'd always get kitsune udon and she'd always get the curry udon, then she'd get her various sweets around the store. Good times.

>> No.5082648

Koala chocolates and Kinoko No Yama is still sold pretty commonly.

I just remembered how awesome those manga books were. I think they were called Akamaru Jump? They always came with some kind of extra goodies so the book were bulging and wrapped in plastic.

I was a reader of CoroCoro comics, only read akamaru if my mom accidentally bought it instead of regular jump.

Oh, were they called CoroCoro? The one I was thinking of had pokemon stuff in them too.

And by that, I mean way later when I saw them in 4th grade again. I don't remember the actual contents of the books from Yaohan since all I cared about was pictures and toys.

CoroCoro had a lot of extra stuff, they're called "furoku". Though, other magazines had them as well, so I'm not sure which one you read. CoroCoro had stickers for gameboy and stuff and manga like megaman.exe, uchuujin tanaka tarou, super mariokun, etc...
